Song: In the Hall of the Mountain King Artist: From, Peer Gynt , Edvard Grieg I had the opportunity to attend a FANTASTIC Halloween Symphony Orchestra tonight that played all sorts of Halloween inspired classical songs. From Harry Potter to Jaws, The Monster Mash to the song I have selected today, it was an incredibly fun evening of live musical entertainment! This song is kind of a classic in my family simply because every, single one of my siblings who learned to play piano, ended up playing this piece at one point or another. I remember hearing this song played several times growing up. It was for sure a favorite to play! This was the first song performed during the Orchestra tonight and it made me smile thinking back to my siblings and the days of piano lessons and this song coming from the living room :) HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! 2019

Song: Little Susie Artist: Michael Jackson IT'S THE WEEK BEFORE HALLOWEEN!! I have been slowly but surely making my way through the ENTIRE music library of the one and only KING himself MICHAEL JACKSON since .... August .... I don't know why it's been taking me so long. But, I mean he has SO.MANY.SONGS! And I started with the Jackson 5 so it's been a lot. I just heard this haunting song for the first time ever (it's the second to the last song on his 1995 album HIStory: Past, Present & Future Book 1 .  The closing song is Smile. The complete opposition in the two songs content is crazy!). This song is super .... disturbing. Creepy. Sad. Yet, beautiful. The strings! His voice! I honestly don't know how I feel about this song. I want to know why he wrote it, what inspired it. But, I do feel it fits into my Halloween Playlist quite nicely .... what with it's haunting eeriness and all. Song: Halloween Medley Artist: The Sing Off season 3 contestants OK. So this is SUPER random but bear with me! You should know by now if you have followed my blog for a while, or just looked through it in general, that I am a  HUGE Pentatonix fan! A Pentaholic if you will ;) Pentatonix was first formed/seen/heard on the third season of the television show The Sing Off on NBC (clear back in 2011!). The Sing Off was an acapella singing competition where groups would perform for a panel of judges with one group being eliminated each week. This weekend I had the privilege and opportunity to listen to General Conference. I'll admit, my attitude yesterday wasn't the best. I didn't really want to participate in Conference because I felt angry. I felt that God had shut me out, turned a blind eye and deaf ear on me. I felt that He didn't really care about me. I felt my prayers had fallen on deaf ears and that I was alone in my pain and struggles. I wasn't even praying anymore. I had given up on myself and on God. I've never done that before. I've never felt this angry and hurt before. I convinced myself that I never hear what I need to hear when I've listened to Conference in the past (which is not true). There's never been a talk that was "just for me" or that really answered a sincere question or longing in my heart (again, not true). I didn't think it would happen this time either. In recent years, October has become one of my most favorite months! The holidays are rapidly approaching and you can feel the magic in the air! I am committing to posting a Halloween inspired song every day this month, just like I did last year . I also love the holidays because it inspires me to blog again! And I love having a theme or some kind of challenge to motivate me. This year has been difficult, especially these past several weeks. I feel I am losing hope. I don't find joy in life. I have no motivation to do anything. I believe I've wasted my life and my time and it's too late for me to recover. I'm constantly ashamed and embarrassed about where I am. I don't want to keep going. It's exhausting. I'm not quite as happy and excited about the holidays as I usually am/wish I was right now because I feel so sad and terrible. I wish I had someone to talk too. I wish this blog had served it's purpose better .... as in, me being able to connect to p
