Image
Song(s): He Is Risen &  This Is the Christ Artist(s): Nashville Tribute Band & Calee Reed Easter Sunday, He Is Risen Read and Ponder: Matthew 28 , Mark 16 , Luke 24 , John 20 , 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 , 3 Nephi 11 First Presidency Easter Message What feelings do you experience when you think about Jesus Christ’s Resurrection? - Gratitude. Peace. Joy! After having lost so many dear ones within the past two years, and knowing this will continue throughout my life, it makes me ponder upon the miracle and JOY of the Resurrection more deeply! I am so grateful that Christ "took upon Him death, that He might loose the bands of death." That I will see and live with my loved ones again someday. "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" ( 1 Corinthians 15:55 ).  "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." ( John 20: 31 ). Because of Jesus Christ, I have new life. Because of Jesus Ch...

The Tomb: Because He Lives (Amen)

Image
Song: Because He Lives (Amen) Artist: Matt Maher The Tomb Read and Ponder: John 14:15–16, 26–27 , Matthew 27:55–61 , D&C 138 When has Jesus helped you find comfort during difficult times? - When I lost my sweet dog. When I lost both my grandparents. When I was afraid of doing something I knew I couldn't handle and He provided another way for me to get through it. When my siblings left on missions. He comforts me all of the time, whether I recognize it or not. It can be in the form of a great song, the sun shining, getting a good nights rest, having a good conversation or just feeling content. He truly gives me strength when I feel I have nothing left. I am trying to acknowledge that more fully and thank Him for it more regularly.   Additional songs for this sacred Easter Weekend. Wide Awake This song doesn't necessarily correlate with a specific verse of scripture but I think it is so beautiful. It's from the perspective of Peter after Christ's death. I'm sur...

His Sacrifice Begins: Son of Suffering

Image
Song: Son of Suffering Artist: Bethel Music & David Funk feat. Matt Redman His Sacrifice Begins Read and Ponder: Matthew 26 , Luke 22:14–20, 39-54 Jesus instituted the sacrament so we would always remember Him and His sacrifice. How can you honor and remember Him daily? - By keeping Him in my thoughts and allowing His influence and exemplary life guide and direct my thoughts and actions. To live in such a way that would please him. To begin each day and end each night with prayer. To focus on gratitude and acknowledging His tender love, guidance and goodness in my life each and every day. To worthily partake of the sacrament each week, with a repentant and humble heart. To make the sacrament a priority in my life. My song choice for today, this Holy Thursday that commemorates the suffering of the Savior in the garden of Gethsemane, is a true worship song in praise of Christ and His atoning sacrifice on my behalf. I will never fully comprehend what He alone had to endure in that s...

Palm Sunday '23

Image
Song: Start Over Artist: FLAME feat. NF Happy Palm Sunday! ⸙ 🀲 Matthew 21:1-11 , Luke 19:29–44 This week I will be busy spending quality time with family and finding time to study the final week of the Savior's mortality. So here, I will be sharing one, beautiful, uplifting song about Jesus Christ each day leading up to Easter. As I do so, I pray for an extra measure of peace and hope in my life. I had another one of "those" nights last night where I felt the darkness surround me and threaten to swallow me whole. I woke up early this morning to find the sun shining through my window and bringing with it the hope and light of Christ. As I celebrate His life this week, I pray to always see the light even during the dark moments. πŸ™ This song is my new ANTHEM!! πŸ™ŒπŸ™πŸ’š I promise this is the last NF song you'll hear from me for a while πŸ˜‰ (even though this is technically not his song, he's just the feature). Regardless, the message is incredible. It's the re-s...

Holy Week: Easter "Resurrection" Sunday!

Image
Easter "Resurrection" Sunday!   "Early in the morning, Mary Magdalene, a friend and follower of Jesus, comes to the tomb to care for His body. To her astonishment, she finds the tomb empty. But she is not alone. A man addresses her—a gardener, she supposes. But then He says her name: “Mary” (John 20:16). And she sees. He is Jesus. The Christ lives. This Easter Sunday, as we take time, like Mary, to focus on the Savior and celebrate His Resurrection, we can know that Jesus knows each of us by name, too. He calls on us to become more like Him and experience the true peace that His gospel brings." - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-8-easter-sunday Read the account of the Savior's Resurrection:   John 20:1-18 #S TARTING T ODAY :   I'm Making Time For Him My Testimony: Easter 2021   - As I have listened to God's living Prophets and Apostles teach inspired words of love and truth these past two days, I have felt love...

Holy Week: The Tomb

Image
The Tomb "It’s hard to imagine the anguish Jesus Christ’s followers must have felt after His death. They lovingly prepared and placed His body in a garden tomb. Now, they must face a world without their beloved friend and Master by their side. But He taught them how to show their love for Him in any circumstance, including this one: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” If we want to truly feel close to the Savior, we must take action and do the things He asked us to do." - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-7-the-tomb Read Jesus's promise to comfort us:   John 14:26-27 Read about Jesus's body being laid in the sepulcher:   Luke 23:50-56 #S TARTING T ODAY :   I'm Walking the Walk  Song:   I Know He Lives  Artist:   David Archuleta  I don't have to see Him I don't have to touch His hands To know that those nails pierced through Mmh, to save the sinful man I don't have to be there Don't have to roll th...

Holy Week: Good Friday

Image
Good Friday  "After suffering in Gethsemane for the sins of all people, Jesus is betrayed into the hands of the local authorities. Following a series of one-sided trials, He is sentenced to death by crucifixion. His suffering for us continues on the cross, and He is surrounded by people who cruelly mock Him. And yet, through it all, Jesus courageously endures, never letting fear keep Him from carrying out His mission to redeem all God’s children. Because of what He did, we can also leave fear behind as we use the power of His sacrifice to become a better version of ourselves." - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-6-good-friday Read the account of the Savior's suffering in Gethsemane:   Luke 22:39-44 Read the account of Jesus's Crucifixion:   Luke 23:27-46 Update from yesterday's question - My sweet little puppy dog is on the mend!! Holy Week: The Last Supper

Image
The Last Supper "In the evening, Jesus Christ gathers His apostles to share a meal and express His love for them. The Last Supper is a quiet, beautiful moment that takes place before Jesus enters the Garden of Gethsemane later that night. He knows that soon He will sacrifice His life and His disciples will be without Him. He introduces the ordinance of the sacrament so they always remember His sacrifice, and He teaches them the power of prayer. He encourages them to ask their Father in Heaven for the things they need so that they can know that God hears and answers the prayers of His children."  - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-5-the-last-supper Read the account of the Last Supper:   Luke 22:7-20 Jesus taught, “Ask, and ye shall receive” (John 16:24). Prayer has the power to bring blessings into our lives. Take a moment today to write down answers you’ve recently received to prayers. - Peace. I have received a feeling of peac...

Holy Week: Forgiveness

Image
Forgiveness "As Jesus Christ teaches His followers during the last week of His life, He stresses the principle of forgiveness. His words have special significance since it is His sacrifice that makes forgiveness possible. Through Him, we can repent and have the burden of sin removed from our hearts. But to truly experience the power of this blessing, we must follow His example and work to forgive the people who have wronged us." - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-4-forgiveness Read Jesus's early teachings about forgiveness: Matthew 18:21-35 #S TARTING T ODAY : I'm Letting It Go   True Change  Reflect: Starting today, what choice could you make to help yourself become a better follower of Jesus Christ? - Don't be afraid to live the gospel. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed. Regardless of what the world might think of me, regardless of any mocking or cruel jokes and comments, live the gospel fully! Follow Christ  comp...

Holy Week: Christ Teaches

Image
Christ Teaches "In Jerusalem, Jesus Christ is surrounded by followers and critics alike. As the Master Teacher, He does not let the opportunity go to waste. Here, in the last week of His life, He shares some of His most enduring teachings with the assembled masses. He lets them (and us) know that the greatest way we can serve God is by loving our fellow men and women. As we increase our capacity to love and work on the relationships in our lives, we will be able to grow into the person Jesus knows we can become." - https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-3-christ-teaches Read some teachings of Jesus Christ: Matthew 25 #S TARTING T ODAY :  I'm Opening My Heart  Faith in Christ  Reflect: Starting today, how can you make time to do things to strengthen your faith?  - Wake up with the sun so I can read the words and teachings of the Son. Holy Week: The Cleansing of the Temple

Image
The Cleansing of the Temple  "After entering Jerusalem, one of the first places Jesus visits is the temple. His Father’s house is supposed to be a sacred place of light and peace, but Jesus finds that light dimmed by the various merchants who have set up shop inside to market their wares. Jesus removes them, and immediately the view improves. He can do the same for us. When we believe in Jesus Christ, we can lift our sights above the things of this world and focus on what is sacred. "  -  https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/easter-2021/holy-week-day-2-the-temple Read the account of Jesus Cleansing the Temple: Mark 11:15-18 #S TARTING T ODAY :  I Will See the Light Seeking Him  Reflect: Starting today, what challenges can you seek God's help to overcome?  - To stop doubting & obtain greater faith.
