Mental Health Awareness Month

Image
Apparently it's Mental Health Awareness Month. Wish I'd know about that sooner..... But I have to at least dedicate one post to this months cause, especially and obviously because it is very near and dear to my heart. One song I have been loving lately is by Sia and it's called Alive. I know, I'm a couple of years behind. I'd never listened to this song until just a few weeks ago. It is AWESOME ! I feel so empowered whenever I listen to it. It makes me feel strong and like I can take on the world! The lyrics are great too. I feel like Sia has some kind of connection to anxiety/depression. I get major "mental health issues" vibes from a lot of her songs. What I like about this one (and the reason I am dedicating it to Mental Health Awareness Month) is because it is song about being strong. It's about coming from a dark place ( "I had a one-way ticket to a place where all the demons go....no hope, just lies and you're taught to cry into your

Hanson Day 2018 Re-Cap

I just finished watching the Hanson Day 2018 State of the Band and Concert. The State of the Band was great! I loved getting to hear more about String Theory. Hanson is awesome! They are so creative and continue to push themselves to do new things. You'd think after 26 years as a band, they'd be tired and bored, maybe even considering retirement (*gasps!*) or at least a break. But not Hanson, they are creative and motivated and I love that about them! I am so inspired by their genuine love for what they do and how they are always willing to take risks and try new things. I'm really looking forward to their String Theory tour and I have my fingers crossed that their coming to my state (I feel like my state has a pretty decent orchestra so....)!! I definitely want to see this show! They sounded so excited about the project and even stated they feel like this is going to be one of the biggest and best shows they've done! Their also releasing new music!! I have to be ho

Don't Accuse

Meep. I've been failing BIG time with my musical blogging this year :( I want to try to do better. And I'm starting today by lamenting the fact that exactly one year ago from this very day I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma attending my very first Hanson Day!! I can't believe it's been an entire year since that life-changing trip. I will always cherish those memories from that incredible trip, it being my first of (hopefully) many to come. One reason it was so fun and so memorable was because I was there with my best friend, my sister, in a brand new place, experiencing something I love and have always wanted to do (Hanson and attending Hanson Day)! I don't really get out of my comfort zone and go on adventures and live life doing things that I love and want to do, so that trip was huge for me! I'll never forget it. I was going to try to post every day this month dedicating each post to Hanson like I sort of did last year . But I've been pretty much gone all mont
