HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Image
Thursday, November 26, 2015 Song: Thankful Artist: Josh Groban I hope everyone who celebrates had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving! I for sure did! I loved getting to spend time with my family. They are the greatest blessing in my life and I am so THANKFUL for them! I know I am so blessed! I was able to enjoy a huge Thanksgiving feast and eat until I was stuffed! I was able to watch the Macey's Thanksgiving Day parade , listen to Christmas music, watch movies, put together a puzzle and play games with my family, in a warm, safe and comfortable home. I am grateful for ALL of these things! There is SO MUCH to be THANKFUL for!! Somedays we forget To look around us Somedays we can't see The joy that surrounds us So caught up inside ourselves We take when we should give.   So for tonight we pray for What we know can be. And on this day we hope for What we still can't see. It's up to us to be the change And even though we all can still do more T

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 25: We Are The World

Image
Song: USA for Africa: We Are The World Artist: Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie Jr.   I love this song! Some people might think it's cheesy but I think it is sweet and has a beautiful message about reaching out and helping our "brothers and sisters" in the world. I am grateful for this song, especially during this Thanksgiving week, because it reminds me that I am so blessed and because of that I should look for opportunities to reach out and help those less fortunate, no matter where they are. Because we are all apart of "God's great big family" and we all deserve love.     There comes a time when we heed a certain call When the world must come together as one There are people dying And it's time to lend a hand to life The greatest gift of all We can't go on pretending day by day That someone, somewhere will soon make a change We all are a part of God's great big family And the truth, you know, Love is all we need We are

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 24: Heal the World

Image
Song: Heal The World Artist: Michael Jackson, Dangerous   A perfect song for this time of year! While we should be thinking about and reflecting on our many blessings we should also think of others and how we can better help them. I love this song! It is so sweet and has such a powerful message. I am grateful for this song because of the truth in the message and the reminder that we CAN make this world a better place to live by being kind and showing love one to another.     There's A Place In Your Heart And I Know That It Is Love And This Place Could Be Much Brighter Than Tomorrow And If You Really Try You'll Find There's No Need To Cry In This Place You'll Feel There's No Hurt Or Sorrow There Are Ways To Get There If You Care Enough For The Living Make A Little Space Make A Better Place... Heal The World Make It A Better Place For You And For Me And The Entire Human Race There Are People Dying If You Care Enough For The L

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 23: I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme)

Image
Song: I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme) Artist: Johnny Rzeznik from Disney's Treasure Planet   I love this song! And I love this movie! It's such an underated, misunderstood, Disney-genius film! I wish it had gotten the recognition is deserved :( It makes me sad how bad it did (box office wise) when it was released. Because I really think it's so creative and I'll admit to having had the BIGGEST cartoon crush on Jim Hawkins :) Every girl loves a bad boy. And Jim is just too dang cute! I might still kind of have a little crush on him.....is that weird!? Anyway, if you don't know what movie this song is from it's called Treasure Planet and basically it is a spin off on the classic film/book Treasure Island . I think it is so clever the way they gave it an outer space theme! And it just works so well !! Today I am grateful for this song because it always reminds me of the movie which reminds me of my childhood. It is also a song that my siblings

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 22: Count Your Blessings

Image
Song: Count Your Blessings Artist: LDS Hymn   The perfect song to start off this Thanksgiving week!! I am grateful I got to sing this song today at church. It has such a good message that helps remind us that in our times of need, doubt, sadness, jelousy, frustration, whatever, that we should count our blessings! Becase when we do, we will see how we truly have so much to be grateful for :) One of my favorite hymns!     When upon life's billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings; name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.   Count your blessings; Name them one by one. Count your blessings; See what God hath done. Count your blessings; Name them one by one. Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.   Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings; ev'ry doubt will

Grateful for Music Day 21: All About Your Heart

Image
Song: All About Your Heart Artist: Mindy Gledhill, Anchor   I love Mindy Gledhill's style of music. It's so cute, happy and whimsical! It makes me feel giddy and like a kid again! It's so much fun! I am grateful for this sweet love song today because it is so cute and has a beautiful message. No one is perfect. We all have our flaws, our quirks and unique things that make us.... us . Sometimes, they're not the most pleasant. And sometimes we don't even like them ourselves. But when you love someone, you can look past those weaknesses and truly see the person's heart. At least that's what I'm assuming. I've never been in love or in a relationship so I'm just going off my imagination what I've read and seen in books and movies and heard in songs. Love songs are my weakness. I am such a romantic at heart. It can hurt sometimes. I want to badly to be in love. And to be loved. It will happen to me someday....right?

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 20: Dreams Be Dreams

Image
Song: Dream Be Dreams Artist: Jack Johnson, On and On   Today I am grateful for this song by Jack because of the wonderful chorus. It's so inspiring to me, especially as I am at a place in my life where I want my "dreams" to be more than just dreams. In lots of different ways, small and large. But I want to stop living in a daydream so to speak and make my dreams, my hopes and wants, my reality. I love this relaxed song by Jack that is short, simple and to the point yet is still able to deliver a powerful message! She's just waiting for the summertime when the weathers fine She could hitch a ride out of town And so far away from that low down good for nothing mistake making fool With excuses like baby that was a long time ago But that's just a euphemism if you want the truth he was out of control But a short times just a long time then your mind just won't let it go Well summer came along and it then was gone and so was she

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 19: She's Out of My Life/You're Mother and Mine

Image
Song: She's Out of My Life and You're Mother and Mine Artist: Michael Jackson, Off the Wall & Wendy Darling, Peter Pan   Today is my sweet mother's birthday and today I am gratefeul for these two songs because I just couldn't decide between the two! She's Out of My Life is one of the only MJ songs my mom really, really likes (she loved it back in her teen years). She is not a very big fan of Michael, but every time I listen to, think or sing this song I think of my mom because she told me how much she always really loved this song :) And that makes me happy! This second song is the sweetest song about mothers EVER!! Plus, it's from my favorite Disney movie, Peter Pan . And what could be more perfect than all of that for MY mother on her special day? I am so grateful for my beautiful, wonderful, sweet, loving mother!     She's Out Of My Life She's Out Of My Life And I Don't Know Whether To Laugh Or Cry

Grateful for Music Challenge Day 18: Man in the Mirror

Image
Song: Man in the Mirror Artist: Michael Jackson (Cover by Michael Henry & Justin Robinett )   You know it's a pretty incredible song when you're posting it for a SECOND time ! Oh, how I ADORE this song!! It's so powerful and inspiring and uplifting and just simply BRILLIANT!   Today I am grateful for this beautiful song because it has such a powerful message. Also, because it's currently stuck in my head ;) But really. It's very close to my heart. I love how the song isn't telling someone else that they need to go be a better person and stop being selfish and go live a better life. It's talking about how we, individually, each person, needs to look within ourselves and be the change we want to see. It begins with us. With me. If you want people to be treated right, you make sure you treat people right! You want to see world hunger end, you do whatever it is you can to help. Put bad habits of selfishness, laziness whatever it is, behind you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC HANSON!!

Image
HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY TO THE OLDEST BROTHER, ISAAC HANSON!   WOW! Is Isaac Hanson really 35 years old today?? REALLY?? I can hardly believe it!! He is aging very well. Oh Ike. Where do I start? You loveable, awkward, dorky fellow. I really have come to love you over these past few years. At first I would literally cringe while watching you during old interviews or during live streams, but your dorkiness has grown on me and I am so happy for all of your success! You have such a HAPPY and BEAUTIFUL smile that truly lights up your entire face! I see you as a sweet and protective and caring older brother who has taken very good care of your younger brothers over the years. And regaurdless of the awkwardness and dorkiness you have such an amazing voice! You are the ROCKER of the group! Even way back in the day, your voice was mature beyond your years! You are extrmlely talented and I am PROUD to call myself YOUR fan! Thank you for everything you do! And thank you for answering my
