Um, things have not been going that great to be totally honest.   I have been on a baking spree these past couple of weeks which has been so fun and helped me work on some of my talents, but I've really been neglectful of my eating habits and exercise. Even that green smoothie challenge I was doing so good on has ceased to exist.   But let's think more positively. I have made some really fun and delicious treats to share!    Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread (amazing! And I learned a life-changing tip ! If your bread is getting really nice and cooked on the top but the middle is still really mushy (this has always been a problem for me), simply place a sheet of tin foil on top. Voila! Perfect banana bread!)       Halloween Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow (I've always called them "Muddy Buddies")       This stuff is  DELISH! They are so insanely talented, you cannot deny it! I don't care if you love them or hate them you just can't deny real, genuine talent when you hear it. I got chills listening to this song. No instruments. Just three men with crystal clear, pure, beautiful voices. I also love the message of this song. Finding peace through the only one who can truly provide peace (God). And seeing yourself change for the better because of Him. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be!     Eating healthy is SO HARD! And the only exercise I've been doing is taking my dog on walks. Granted, they are usually 30-60 minutes long. But still, I could do a little more. This is pretty much my logic when it comes to eating better.   This is how I feel (and basically what I do ) every time I try to eat healthy!   Monday and Tuesday I totally blew it!! Like BIG time! I ate and I was lazy and then I ate some MORE! I really like to eat. Obviously. And I'm addicted to things that require little to absolutely NO movement at all (i.e. sleep, reading, blogging, youtube-ing)   Wednesday I started a few aerobic type exercises along with my walks. 30 jumping jacks, 15 sit-ups, 30 side-touches, 1 minute of bicycle kicks, 10 girl push-ups, 30 squats and 10 lunges. I ate pretty well for the most part too.   Thursday was pretty much the same as Wednesday UNTIL that night when I went shopping with

Song: Good People Artist: Jack Johnson Wow. Today has been interesting. So the Supreme Court basically doesn't want to deal with cases involving same-sex marriage issues anymore and are just allowing judges to have the final say on these issues without taking into consideration the majority vote of the state. That being said, same-sex marriage was legalized in my state today. Amazing how literally TWO DAYS ago, our church leaders counseled us on the changing times and the way we should handle these challenging situations and differences. With love and kindness and respect. But still staying strong to what we believe and know to be true. I believe marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN . I believe in God's law of marriage. Although I do feel sorry for individuals who have to live with these challenges (same-sex attraction), I still don't believe in that kind of life style. Anyway, I thought this song was very appropriate for today and the world we are living in.

Song: If the Savior Stood Beside Me Artist: Sally Deford  Listening to General Conference these past two days has been truly inspiring, uplifting, and comforting. I have felt an overwhelming amount of love for my Savior Jesus Christ, for our Prophet Thomas S. Monson and the other leaders of our church, for the Prophet Joseph Smith, for my family and I have felt the love of my Savior so deeply I have been moved to tears on several occasions.  I love this sweet Primary song. 'If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do?' Something to keep in mind at all times. I felt that this song would be very fitting for this beautiful sabbath day. I love my Savior and Father in Heaven so very much and I am so thankful and feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to be spiritually fed and uplifted in the presence of God's prophets.
