Holy Week: The Last Supper

The Last Supper

"In the evening, Jesus Christ gathers His apostles to share a meal and express His love for them. The Last Supper is a quiet, beautiful moment that takes place before Jesus enters the Garden of Gethsemane later that night. He knows that soon He will sacrifice His life and His disciples will be without Him. He introduces the ordinance of the sacrament so they always remember His sacrifice, and He teaches them the power of prayer. He encourages them to ask their Father in Heaven for the things they need so that they can know that God hears and answers the prayers of His children."

Read the account of the Last Supper: Luke 22:7-20

Jesus taught, “Ask, and ye shall receive” (John 16:24). Prayer has the power to bring blessings into our lives. Take a moment today to write down answers you’ve recently received to prayers. - Peace. I have received a feeling of peace. This week has been very emotionally taxing. My dog's health is good but also not good. In only a few short days, things seem to have escalated. I know my dog is nearing the end. Something I hate thinking about. I can't imagine life without him. He has been a part of my life for more than half of my lifetime. He is a miracle to me. Although I know he can't live much longer, I also don't feel like it's his time to leave quite yet. I have been pleading with my Father in Heaven for healing. I have been doing all that I alone can do (calling the vet, researching online, etc). It's now time I put my faith in my Lord and leave it all in His hands. I've been through this before and the Lord has been merciful. As I have prayed for relief, I have received relief in feelings of peace and calm. I need to be patient and continue to have faith. God is good and knows the timing of all His creations. He is also merciful and understanding. He has the power to heal. Faith can move mountains. My faith can bring about miracles. I need to trust in the goodness of God and what He's done for me before.

#STARTINGTODAY: I'm Asking For Direction

God's Reminders Reflect: Starting today, what will you do to recognize the times God has acted in your life? - Write them down and read/reflect upon my past experiences.

Song: Peace In Christ
Artist: Nik Day, McKenna Hixson and Claire & Dave Crosby

There is peace in Christ
When we learn of Him.
Feel the love He felt for us
When He bore our sins.
Listen to His words.
Let them come alive,
If we know Him as He is,

There is peace in Christ.

He gives us hope
When hope is gone.
He gives us strength
When we can’t go on.
He gives us shelter
In the storms of life.
When there’s no peace on earth,
There is peace in Christ.

There is peace in Christ
When we walk with Him
Through the streets of Galilee
To Jerusalem.
Mend the broken hearts.
Dry the tear-filled eyes.
When we live the way He lived,

There is peace in Christ.

He gives us hope
When hope is gone.
He gives us strength
When we can’t go on.
He gives us shelter
In the storms of life.
When there’s no peace on earth,
There is peace in Christ.

He gives us hope
When hope is gone.
He gives us strength
When we can’t go on.
He gives us shelter
In the storms of life.
When there’s no peace on earth,
There is peace in Christ.
When there’s no peace on earth,
There is peace in Christ.
