I've been SO bad at blogging this summer! 🤦 I'm always bad at blogging during the "lazy days of summer." 

I needed to give a little "musical update" on my life...it's really nothing that new if you've been following along on my musical ride since the beginning of this blogs creation or just since the beginning of this year! I still listen to a lot of NF (and am still experiencing major withdrawals from that EPIC concert!!). I've also been listening to a lotta Michael Jackson this month in honor of his upcoming date of birth on August 29th...but I've also been listening to a ton of Goo Goo Dolls in preparation for my upcoming CONCERT in exactly ONE WEEK from TODAY!! 🙌😝🎸🤘👊

Remember this post from a little over a year ago? I recently just looked at it again and re-read something I wrote:

"I love the Goo Goo Dolls! Johnny's voice is iconic and will forever be one of my favorite voices in rock history! I love having these live listening parties - with myself and my blog, lol. I so wish I could have seen them live! 😭 I'm still kicking myself for not getting tickets. I hope they come back again soon because I will definitely be going! The Goo Goo Dolls always make me feel allll the feels. Thanks for another great soundtrack for my life guys! Keep on rocking! 🤘"    🤯🙌🙏😭

Last year when they were in town it was during a very difficult time for my family...my grandpa had recently and unexpectedly passed away and then I went to spend a couple of weeks with my sister and her family out of state. I had known the Goo Goo Dolls were coming since that January (and had even marked it on my calendar, lol). I hadn't made getting tickets much of a priority since they weren't quite as crucial to me as Hanson or Jack Johnson and I had already bought tickets to both of their shows. But the closer it got to the date, the more I really started wanting to go. My brother said he'd be willing to go with me if I could find reasonably priced tickets...and then everything went crashing down and I had to put it out of my mind. I tried not to let it get me down, spending quality time with my family was way more important but still! It hurt to know I was going to miss them during such an EPIC year of concerts I had going on! 

Then, this last December I happened to see an announcement via Twitter that they were COMING BACK to my state this SUMMER!! 😲😱😭🙏 I was shocked! Like, WHAT!? They were just here on tour...and now they're coming BACK??? IS THIS REAL LIFE!?! I contacted my brother immediately and we purchased our tickets! I'M SO STOKED!! 👊 This is FATE!!! After this, I will have seen every single one of my absolute top favorite artists live! Going from nothing after years of loving their music and listening to it constantly, to all in a matter of TWO YEARS is WILD to me! I am so freaking blessed!!! 🙏😭🖤

SO. Since I haven't posted anything music-related in months, I decided to share some recent "rediscovered" songs from the Goo Goo Dolls that I have been loving this month in honor of my upcoming concert! 🖤🎸 And check back August 29th for some MJ songs that I have also "rediscovered" are incredibly fantastic and will be sharing in his honor!

This one has meaningful, deep, thought-provoking lyrics that still feel incredibly relevant to our day (despite the fact that it was released 28 years ago!) with a really catchy, rock n' roll chorus! Classic Goo Goo Dolls.

This song is kinda heavy but I love it! It sort of sounds like Johnny is low-key "rapping" the verses...just because of the speed he's singing at, lol. I know he's not actually rapping but that's the best way I know how to describe it.

Love, love, LOVE this one!! It's so catchy!! And the lyrics are so beautifully poetic, I'm obsessed! 😍 Probably my favorite "rediscovered" song from the Goo Goo Dolls this month. The beginning chords totally remind me of this fantastic, underrated song from Treasure Planet...I actually think he used some of the same notes and just tweaked them a bit because it's uncanny. Johnny's just so talented!
