FINAL GRATEFUL FOR MUSIC CHALLENGE DAY!! πŸ₯ΊπŸ™π… πŸ€Ž

Song(s): Better When I'm Dancing & I'm Not That Girl
Artist(s): Meghan Trainor from, The Peanuts Movie & From, Wicked

I know these two song choices are sooooo random and don't go together at all but bear with me!

I watched The Peanuts Movie last week because Charlie Brown gives me all the holiday vibes and it was so sweet and cute! I should have shared this song then, but I decided to feel sorry for myself instead 😬 But I had to include it today since, to me, it fits this time of year so perfectly! Cozy, nostalgic, sweet, pure and tender. πŸ’—

And then I knew I had to share a Wicked song today since I just saw the movie! It was WONDERFUL and magical! The hype was well earned! I decided to share the number that stuck out the most to me. Technically, that would have been the EPIC ending with Defying Gravity but I don't want to spoil that for anyone, so I'm going with this one. It was hard not to compare the singing of every song to the original cast (especially for someone like me who grew up obsessed with Wicked and still knows every word to every song to this day! Who literally knows each inflection and note and literally acted out the songs with her siblings πŸ˜‚). So there were some songs and moments I struggled a bit with, having to remind myself not to compare them, but this one I thought was really beautifully done. And I've always loved it! πŸ’š

Mmm, hey, mmm
Hey

Don't think about it
Just move your body
Listen to the music
Sing, oh, ey, oh
Just move those left feet
Go ahead, get crazy
Anyone can do it
Sing, oh, ey, oh

Show the world you got that fire (Fire)
Feel the rhythm gettin' louder
Show the room what you can do
Prove to them you got the moves, hey
I don't know about you

But I feel better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
Better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
We can do this together
I bet you feel better when you're dancin', yeah, yeah

Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
Pa-pa-da-da

When you finally let go
And you slay that solo
'Cause you listen to the music
Sing, oh, ey, oh
'Cause you're confident, babe
And you make your hips sway
We knew that you could do it
Sing, oh, ey, oh

Show the world you got that fire (Fire, baby)
Feel the rhythm gettin' louder
Show the room what you can do
Prove to them you got the moves
I don't know about you

But I feel better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
Better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
(Oh) We can do this together
I bet you feel better when you're dancin', yeah, yeah, hey

Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da (Come on)
Pa-pa-da-da
Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
Pa-pa-da-da

Ey
Oh, ey, oh
Oh, ey, oh
I feel better when I'm dancin' (Oh, ey, oh)
I'm better when I'm dancin' (Oh, ey, oh)
Oh, ey, oh
Oh, ey, oh

I feel better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
Better when I'm dancin', yeah, yeah
Don't you know we can do this together?
Bet you feel better when you're dancin', yeah, yeah

Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da

You got to move it
Pa-pa-da-da
Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
I feel better when I'm dancin'
Better when I'm dancin'
Feel better when I'm, yeah, yeah

Be sure to go give the OG a listen while you're at it if you like to compare and contrast like I do 😁

Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy, but I'm not that girl

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Every so often, we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl

It's a little bittersweet not to be ending this yearly challenge with a "see ya next year!" type of send off. But I really, truly feel it's time to end this blog. I've been the most unmotivated I have ever been all year (if you couldn't tell from the months of neglect). Tomorrow starts my final month. The final "holiday challenge." I pray I can make it a good one because I feel like crap right now. I made poor decisions that have affected me mentally and physically (all this holiday food really caught up to me this year! I feel so nauseous right now hahaha πŸ˜…). I think I maybe shared one Josh Groban song all month....and I hardly even listened to him on my own time. This month became another "Hanson Month" for me since I got to go to the Underneath Experience tour! Highlight of my month AND year!! I haven't gotten enough of them since!

Thanks for listening all these years. I will forever be GRATEFUL for the joy, peace, comfort and healing power of MUSIC! πŸ™π… πŸ€Ž
