10/10 is a Hanson music day for me! If you know....you know (I don't have the time, energy or desire to explain in detail). I've historically posted Hanson songs on this day in the past. I listen to the Play EP on this day each year because I unintentionally started a tradition of doing so cleeeeaaar back in October of 2016 when it first came out (which happened to be today, eight years ago!! 🤯). And because of all that, I had to go with Hanson today!

What I really wanted to share is a cool, non-lyrical, 3-piece musical story called The Machine that Zac Hanson composed back in 2018...it's got major "mad-scientist-robots-taking-over-the-world" vibes going on so I thought it would work, haha. Especially considering I've been reading a super dark and creepy re-telling of the classic novel Frankenstein called The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein. It's dark and disturbing but I've been really enjoying it! It's an interesting re-telling that's very creative while still honoring the original story, but with a major, creepy twist! But, since this particular "song" is "Members Only" content, I can't share it here. So, I thought I'd present one of the most "haunting" yet beautiful songs from Hanson, specifically Zac (it started out as a members song but made it's way to String Theory) Siren Call. This song is eerie; the beginning almost sounds like the mournful wailing of ghosts! 👻 It's the vibes, people...all about the vibes!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression.
