Alice in Wonderland πŸ‡πŸ‚‘ πŸ‚½

Alice in Wonderland is another classic fairytale and Disney film I adore! πŸ’œ It fills my heart with wonder and nostalgia. I love the visuals of Wonderland, with massive gardens 🌻, giant mushrooms πŸ„, tea parties 🍡, red roses 🌹 and playing cards πŸ‚‘ πŸ‚½ It's all so whimsical.

To see song selections from the Walt Disney animated film, see this post. It also contains additional "Alice" themed/inspired songs like Aerosmith's Sunshine (the title of the post), Mindy Gledhill's Pocketful of Poetry (can also be found here) and Taylor Swifts Wonderland. There's also video + a few links to songs from the musical Wonderland. Then head over here and here for music from Tim Burton's wild adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Wasn't a fan of the movies, but the songs are great.

OK, on to our modern day Alice Wonderland inspired tunes!

From, Wonderland, the musical
I listened to this entire album on Monday while on a bike ride to the library! (How perfect is that!?) and discovered a few new songs I think are wonderful and worth sharing.

Home
Beautiful, sweet song about the comfort and peace that comes with being Home. πŸ’—

Drink Me
For the title alone, the song is only 45 seconds long but it's got such a mystical, magical quality to it. Very much worth a quick listen! ✨

Advice from a Caterpillar
I vividly remember this scene when I saw the play way back in January 2018! It's so crazy and weird and perfect. I really enjoyed this number!

A Nice Little Walk
This is a MAJOR spoiler to the show so...perhaps skip this description if you don't want spoilers! The Mad Hatter is the villain in this re-imagined version and is a woman which is AWESOME! This song is performed by the Mad Hatter and her insane sidekick the March Hare. All of the Mad Hatter songs totally belong on my Halloween Playlist, they're all so sinister.

I Will Prevail
*ANOTHER SPOILER WARNING, CONT. FROM ABOVE* This song is super dramatic and evil! My favorite "just remembered" song from the play! I love it!!

I Am My Own Invention
*ANOTHER SPOILER WARNING* This number was really interesting because Alice meets Lewis Carroll (the author!). It's a really sweet song, I really enjoyed the lyrics and message of this song.

Off with Their Heads
I don't think this song needs an explanation...you should know which character is singing this one! ♛❤️πŸ‚½  Another song that could go on my Halloween playlist. Beheadings!? 😳 Scary! I love how the songs in this play have a variety of different music styles. This one has an old school, jazz feel to it. Super clever!

Once More I Can See
Alice being reflective of her childhood adventures just really spoke to the child that lives within my heart! πŸ’“ Beautiful song!

Together
The White Knight and the White Rabbit, I love both of these characters from the musical! They're so entertaining! 🀍 Great song!

Heroes
"The hours move, the days go by. We wait for heroes to fall from the sky. Don't wait too long, to learn what's true. I promise you'll be a hero for me, and I'll be a hero for you." 🀍😭

Finding Wonderland
The title alone makes my heart happy! 😍 Great closer to a wonderful adventure!!

Uh-oh! I just posted the entire musical, hahaha! It's all just so good!! 🀩 I hope you enjoyed your adventure down the rabbit hole πŸ•³πŸ‡

Let's move on now, more musical madness awaits!

Rabbit Hole - Mindy Gledhill πŸ‡
I mean...does it get more Alice in Wonderland than this!? It even sounds like you're falling down the magical rabbit hole to Wonderland! Me and Mindy are on the same page when it comes to our love of the whimsy. 🀍

Welcome to Wonderland
*BRAND NEW SONGI heard this week as I was searching for Wonderland (the musical). This guy is another "he gets me" singer-songwriter when it comes to explaining life through fictional lands and characters. I mean, he has this song about Wonderland and then he has a song called Robin Hood and a song about PETER PAN (coming soon! Check back on 9.30)!

Come Along - Pentatonix
When I first heard this song back in 2018 it immediately gave me Alice in Wonderland vibes! I didn't know why exactly, but I pictured the music video set in Wonderland with Kirstie as Alice, Scott as the Mad Hatter, Matt as the White Rabbit or March Hare, Kevin as a playing card Solider or perhaps even the Cheshire Cat and Mitch as either the Cheshire or Queen of Hearts, lol. It would have been perfect. 🀩 As I was listening to this song the other day, a line stuck out to me that I never noticed before: "March with me and the borogoves. Come with me and the slithy toves and never ask us why." THEN IT HIT ME!! "borogoves" and "Slithy toves" are references to some of the lines in the classic Jabberwocky poem by Lewis Carroll featured in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!! So, without me even realizing it at the time, the song totally is inspired, in part, by Alice in Wonderland and that's why I envisioned it so clearly! Amazing what you learn!

Original version by Cosmo Sheldrake

Alice - Lady Gaga
So apparently Lady Gaga had an "Alice inspired" song come out just two years ago! Clearly I'm not the biggest Gaga fan as I don't keep up with her music, but I love this one! And it's so fitting for her, she is someone who belongs in Wonderland for sure!

Strange World - Hanson
I can't actually share this song as it's from Hanson's 2022 Members EP which is EXCLUSIVE to fan-club members (like myself 😊) but it's PERFECT for this playlist! If you aren't a Hanson.net member, you are missing out! I mean, the EP itself is entitled White Rabbit which immediately made me think of Alice in Wonderland and then it starts off sounding exactly the way Wonderland would sound! It's one of my favorite EP's to date! Totally worth signing up for *hint, hint* πŸ˜‰ For more details about my initial reaction to this EP, see here.

I hope you're journey into Wonderland with me has been magical!✨ Do be sure to return often! For don't you see...."We're All MAD here!" 😸😡
