HANSON'S AGAINST THE WORLD ALBUM RELEASE APPRECIAITON POST!

Hanson's newest album is out NOW! Go order it! Download it! Stream it! LISTEN TO IT! It's a beautiful work of art with diverse songs ranging from an 80's inspired power pop song to some gospel, rock and a Queen inspired ballad which contain messages of love, hope, courage and strength. Some of their best work. It's worth a listen!

I have really loved getting a new song every month for these past 7 months. In the beginning, I tried sharing each song here as it was released, but I didn't get around to August's because I was really struggling...so I've decided to include it (along with last months) today with Hanson's newest and last single release and album drop!

Fearless

Released today, this song is a power anthem with an incredible message! The beginning of this song gives me chills! It's so different from anything Hanson has released before and I LOVE that! They are always pushing themselves to create something totally new and original. I listened to this song for the first time last night when I got the notification that the song had dropped. I listened to it with my eyes shut, lying in bed, in the dark. The lyrics struck me hard as I had just been to a therapy session earlier that evening where my therapist and I have been discussing ways to help me get out of the cage of fear I have been living in my entire life. It was one of those perfect moments where the message of the song connected so effortlessly with my current situation. Very similar to my first experience hearing the song Strong Enough to Break. My new life anthem as I try to live a more "fearless" life. And the music video...it's one of my favorites from the project and it is πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Digging deep, digging up bones
Dirty hands, carrying stones
Don't give in to the decay
Like a robber to the grave

Reach out, reaching to the top
Been blocked, but you won't stop
Not just another clichΓ©
They better get out of your way

If you're not gonna go home
If you're gonna take names

You've got to be fearless
But you can be so much more
You could be bold
Breaking the mold
You are what you let yourself be told
You could be fearless

You are the start to the fire
Giving more than is required
Not gonna listen to the pain
That's why you're making gains

You won't be overturned, you can't be overcome
Blood sweat and tears is all you brought
And you're giving all you've got

If you're not gonna go home
If you're gonna make waves

You've got to be fearless
But you can be so much more
You could be bold
Breaking the mold
You are what you let yourself be told
You can be fearless
But you could be so much more
You can be brave, breaking the chains
You are what you let yourself become
You can be fearless

Against the World

August's release. Another powerful song with an inspiring and meaningful message. Embrace the risk of failure. Find courage to follow your dreams. Keep fighting and trying, never give up. They truly exemplify the message of this song. It's another reason I love Hanson, they don't just write and sing songs with inspiring messages like this, they live it. They really believe what they sing and it shows by looking at their history and everything they have gone through and overcome. This song defines who the band Hanson is! The visuals of this video are so cool and fit with the theme of the song so well! Also, the little shout out to Strong Enough to Break is one of my most favorite parts!

If tonight we reach, it won't be for the first time
So we race, through the dark to the light
We've been through hard times, but they're our times now
It's just you and me and us against the world

We belong with the restless
Keep company with rebels and with dreamers
And learned from the landslide
There's equal scars from victory and failure
Oh and the innocent man, he knows only the good die young
While the proud men hide
So we die for a little, if only to give living one more try

It's just you and me and us against the world

Oh oh oh oh

We ignore reservations, each time we choose to climb onto the ladder
Like the road less taken, we're in search of destinations that will matter
So with these broken wings, we stand on the brink, wings unfurled
Say goodbye to the sidelines

Once again it's us against the world
Ooh ooh
(I hear the voices say, I hear them say)
Once again it's us against the world
Oh, I hear them say
If tonight we reach, it won't be for the first time
So we race, headlong into the fight (to the fight)
Can't swear we'll still be standing at sunrise
Once again it's us against the world

And we've lived through heartache
We've held on past, more than I can take
Been just strong enough to break

But tonight we reach, it might be for the last time
So we race, through the dark to the light
Can't swear we'll still be standing at sunrise
We've lived through hard times, but they're our times now

It's just you and me and us against the world
(Wooooooorld)
Once again it's us against the world
(Wooooooorld)
Oh oh
I hear them say
Us against the world
(Wooooooorld)
Hear the Voices say let me hear you say
Once again it's us against the world
(Wooooooorld)
I hear you say, let me hear you say
(Wooooooorld)
It's just you and me and us against the world

One

October's release. I decided to save it and listen to it for the first time during their last streaming concert of the year. I liked hearing it live first, it was really cool! This song is super different for a Hanson song (especially with the "one, one, one" echo in the background of the chorus) but in a good way! I think this song was inspired by the events that have transpired over the last 18 months. The chaos of the last almost two years. These events have caused such a division amongst people, from families and friends, to neighborhoods and communities. I love the message of being "one" with each other. We need everyone! Each, unique, individual person has value and has a place on this earth. We need to stop focusing on our differences and come together as "one." I think this song is the most emotional song of the album and a cry for peace. The video portrays imagery of war, which fits the tone of this song perfectly.

Put down your guard, doesn't mean that you stop dreaming
Or that you change what you believe in, all I want is us to try
Lay down your arms, doesn't mean that we stop fighting
Only that we recognize that we might shed blood for our pride

And we shout cause we cannot help ourselves, carrying on
And we try to pretend we do no wrong
So we do harm all along
We should have always been as one
One
We should have always been as one

Tear down these walls
There is a danger to our hearts
Monuments to isolation that deny us what we've lost
Make peace not war, is a cause that has no cost
Only that what you believe in, is to stand and bear your cross

And we shout cause we cannot help ourselves carrying on
And we try to pretend we do no wrong
So we do harm all along
We should have always been as one
One
We should have always been as one

Give up on the man you are
The place that you've come from
Without it you might not get far
But with it you're already numb
You'll discover once the damage is done

We should have always been as one
One, one, one
We should have always been as one
One, one, one
We should have always been as one
As one as one
