Michael Jackson LOVED Peter Pan!
 
Oh, Peter Pan. How I love that little boy who never grew up! Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie (if by a small margin). He is for sure my favorite Disney character. I recently received (and just finished reading) a beautiful, leather bound book of the classic story. I enjoyed it, but I still prefer Disney's :) The play is also quite good, with wonderful music! I Gotta Crow (very fitting for the books Peter), Never, Neverland, and I Won't Grow Up, just to name a few. Finding Neverland is a beautiful movie about the author James M. Barrie and the family of boys who inspired the play/character. Very touching and sweet. And you can bet I'm going to go see Pan when it comes out (October 9th)!

I love everything that Peter represents. Youth, magic, faith and trust, believing, flying, innocence, adventure, Neverland....all of it! I was amazed to read (and hear) about Michael's love of Peter Pan and then to read about his Neverland Ranch! SO COOL!! I can relate to Michael big time on this one. I will never truly grow up. I believe it is a good thing to remain a child at heart. To believe in "magic." To see the wonder and joy in simple, ordinary things. To stay excited, even about small things. I just love you Peter Pan!

Yep
I shouldn't go overboard, but those are some quotes and sayings from Peter Pan (both the book and the Disney movie) that I love. There's more (a lot more); but I can't post all of them! I will have to do another post dedicated to all things Peter Pan at some point.

Childhood. A beautiful, yet heartbreaking song Michael wrote about his life. I heard him say in an interview that if people really wanted to get to know him, they should listen to this song (so I did). He said this is one of the most honest songs he's ever written. I remember watching this video and thinking "this has a very Peter Pan feel to it" then I find out, "Oh, it's because he LOVED PETER PAN!" Like me :)

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling.
