Grateful For Music Challenge Day 11

Song: I Have Seen the Rain Artist: Jim Moore feat. P!nk Happy Veterans Day!! I find this song to be more than appropriate for this day where we honor all those who have fought and served their country and what they went through doing so. I discovered this song a few months back (through one of my many random tumbles down the youtube rabbit hole) and I was hooked! I loved it even more when I found out P!nk's father, Jim Moore, wrote this song and watched a video of them singing it together πŸ’• P!nk gives off such intense punk rock vibes with her style of clothing, hair and her live performances and her dad was just this sweet, regular, every day looking guy 😊 So precious! The lyrics of this song make me emotional. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma that people experience (often times for the rest of their lives) after fighting in wars. It's heartbreaking. I hope we will all pause and take a moment to ponder the bravery of the valiant and courageous men and women who ...

Song(s): Home To Stay & Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring  Artist: Josh Groban Remember how November is also known as "Josh Groban" month around here? I think I've made that pretty darn clear now, giving you TWO Josh songs in one! I listened to both of these songs today while doing some menial housework. They are two I'm not as familiar with (even though they are both from his very first , debut album!) and I'm now obsessed! Angelic πŸ˜‡ And so, sooo gorgeous! The transition between songs ( Home To Stay into the classic Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring )   is seamless and beautiful! The lyrics in Home To Stay are tender and make me think of a parent singing or praying these words over a rebellious and wayward child, yearning them to return. The message that they will always be there waiting, with arms open. πŸ˜₯ Or maybe it could be a lover, however you wish to interpret it, it's beautiful and heartfelt all the same. I can't say enough good things about t...

Song: Here You Come Again Artist: Dolly Parton I love this cute song!! The first time I heard it...was at the end of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life - Winter  πŸ˜‚ Really though, that's when I heard this song for the first time ever! And I thought it was so fun and adorable and I listened to it daily this summer! I hope it makes you smile! πŸ˜ƒ Here you come again Just when I've begun to get myself together You waltz right in the door Just like you've done before And wrap my heart 'round your little finger Here you come again Just when I'm about to make it work without you You look into my eyes And lie those pretty lies And pretty soon I'm wonderin' how I came to doubt you All you got to do is smile that smile And there go all my defenses Just leave it up to you and in a little while You're messin' up my mind and fillin' up my senses Here you come again Lookin' better than a body has a right to And shakin' me up so that all I really know ...

Song: God Is Love Artist: Hymns, pg. 87 Confession: I don't remember when I heard this song.... I think it was during General Conference last month ... but I can't truly recall. All I know is, I had it written down on a list of songs I want to share (but sometimes don't make the time for or, just forget to do - yes, there is a list ). All of that aside, a beautiful Hymn for the sabbath is always needed, wouldn't you agree? And the title couldn't be more true. Have a blessed day, week, month and rest of 2020, regardless of the circumstances and trying times. πŸ™ Earth, with her ten thousand flow’rs, Air, with all its beams and show’rs, Heaven’s infinite expanse, Sea’s resplendent countenance— All around and all above Bear this record: God is love. Sounds among the vales and hills, In the woods and by the rills, Of the breeze and of the bird, By the gentle murmur stirred— Sacred songs, beneath, above, Have one chorus: God is love. All the hopes that sweetly start From...

Song: Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) Artist: Josh Groban And the tradition continues! If you are unaware, for the past 5 years I have posted a Josh Groban song on this day every year. It started out as a coincidence and then I decided to turn it into a Music Is My Therapy: Grateful For Music Challenge  tradition! I do love my traditions πŸ˜‰ Anyway, this song is GORGEOUS!  If a bit on the sad side πŸ˜₯ Especially the ending πŸ’” Regardless, I have been loving it lately! I have begun my annual "listen to everything by Josh Groban during November" listening party (November is also known as "Josh Groban" month in my world) and have almost finished his first album. This song has been a stand out to me this year! It's one I've never given much "love" and attention to in the past, so this year I've been giving it a little more TLC. I've listened to it at least 3 times now. And will probably continue to go back and listen to it a few more times through...

Song: Peace Train Artist: Cat Stevens Can I hitch a ride on the Peace Train please? ✋ Better yet, can my entire COUNTRY hop on!? These last few days have been suspenseful to say the least. I've been feeling anxious for days and just need this all to be OVER with already! I need things to settle down and get back to some kind of normalcy (although I don't think that's possible... I think this year is only the beginning... but that's a whole 'nother post that I'm not going to waste any time and negative energy writing about during my "Gratitude" month!). I first heard this song back in February in the movie Remember the Titans . I was watching it for Black History Month. The song was quietly playing in the background during one scene but there was something about the melody and words that stuck out to me enough to make me look up the song! And I'm so happy that I did! I LOVE this song! It's so great and has such a wonderful (and meaningful ) ...

Hanson Streaming Concert Series: November: Perennial

Image
I watched Hanson's second concert from their Concert Streaming Series today! The theme this month was Perennial in honor of their BRAND   NEW  ALBUM Perennial: A Hanson Net Collection ! The album is essentially a "greatest hits" album of all of Hanson's " Member's Only Music " over the past 20 years! 😲 This music has never been shared with the public before but now they are "pulling back the curtain" so to speak and letting EVERYONE in on what fan-club members have enjoyed for years! I became a member in mid-November of 2014 so there are several songs I don't have that are included on this album! I'm looking forward to listening (although, since I am a current Hnet member, I have access to the phenomenal music player on their website which includes  EVERY  fan-club EP ever made so I can listen to them all any time I want! Perks of joining - hint hint! πŸ˜‰). The album also includes a BRAND NEW   SONG  "Nothing Like A Love Song....
