NF dropped another single not long ago and this is my first time hearing it/watching the video!
Hahahaha!! 😆 OK...I see what he's doing here. NF is SAVAGE! He really doesn't care about "celebrity" culture or Hollywood at all and is letting it be known ("Hollywood, Hollywood, hope Nate doesn't go Hollywood." I don't think we need to worry about that ever again after this!).
I think the song is good on it's own, definitely unique and different from anything I've heard from him before, but it's SO MUCH BETTER with the video! Nate is so over the top here and I LOVE it! Looks like he's having a ball! We love to see happy Nate! 😍 And watching this BTS video makes me even happier! He seems so at ease and confident with himself. It's inspiring. Also, this is the most "pop" sounding song I've ever heard from him and I wonder if that's part of his whole "shtick" here...like he's not only mocking the industry for their double standards and biases but maybe also the way so many songs sound the same...? 🤔 He's a genius when it comes to the production of his music so I wouldn't put it past him! The song is clearly tongue in cheek and "I don't care about you" in tone.
One thing I have to say...I was a little shocked to hear him say "Oh God!" so many times and in the way that he did 😳...I don't know if all Christians find that to be technically "swearing" aka "taking the Lords name in vain." This doesn't make me think or feel ANY differently about NF and his values, morals and music or the respect I have for him. I was just surprised. I found one other person mention this same thing in the comments section...since no one else brought it up I guess it's not that big of a deal in other Christian communities? I don't know. Just thought it was interesting.
All in all, it's fun, he's got some great lines but it's not one I'll probably go back and listen to a whole lot. Maybe it will grow on me eventually but for now, I just think it's fun to watch the video but don't see myself jamming to it on the regular. It's not one I relate to or feel super inspired by...I mean it's literally the polar opposite of HOPE. And I think it's suppose to be that way... lighter and more "just for fun" which can be refreshing when it comes to NF and his usual lyrical content...so it's just a little harder for me to get as into compared to some of his other stuff.
I can't say ENOUGH good things about this music video though! SO FUNNY!! 😂 And I swear some of the actors here are suppose to look like actual celebrities (i.e. minute mark 0:55-0:57 HAS to be Machine Gun Kelly!) He firing SHOTS on this one! 💣💥 The REAL ones know you're the G.O.A.T. Nate!! 🐐👑
I'm sorry but his "dance moves" and whole "presence" in general during this video is FIRE 🔥 It's got that unhinged "Joker" energy similar to how he is in CLOUDS 😂 The moves at minute mark 3:18-3:22 specficially...like so cool yet slightly unhinged at the same time! But then way he jumps down the steps RIGHT ON BEAT during minute mark 3:23-3:25 🔥🔥🔥 SICK! Minute mark 1:54-2:00 is one of my favorite parts...mic drop! ✋🎤 And minute 3:04-3:12...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK!?! So weird but so funny! 😆 Too many great little gems like that throughout the whole thing. ALSO...KID FROM WHEN I GROW UP! (3:27-3:50) THE TRUEST NF STAN FOR REAL THO!! SUCH A FUN/FUNNY THROWBACK!! 😂😂
