Thanksgiving '22!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! ๐Ÿฆƒ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ™

I had a lovey day doing the things I love with the people I love.

  • Watched The Macey's Thanksgiving Day Parade ๐ŸŽ‰
  • Traditional Thanksgiving Morning Breakfast ๐Ÿ˜‹
  • Making my homemade, all from scratch Coconut Cream Pie ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ˜‹
  • Chaotic last minute cooking in the kitchen with family ๐Ÿ˜…
  • A beautiful feast of food; all the hard work paid off! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฆƒ
  • Sharing what we're grateful for (mine was all the concerts I was blessed and lucky enough to attend with my favorite people) ๐ŸคŽ
  • Playing games ๐ŸŽฒ
  • Watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving while eating pie ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿงก
  • Puzzling ๐Ÿงฉ
  • Watching the first Christmas movie of the season (a family favorite with the ENTIRE family!) ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿค
  • The usual, constant chaos that ensues when everyone is home under one roof ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค

I am so blessed. ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ™ It's something I try to remind myself of daily.

Song: The Thanksgiving Song
Artist: Ben Rector

I know I shared this song two years ago, but it's too good to not share again! Plus, do you know how many years in a row I shared Josh Groban's Thankful?? A lot.

This song feels more personal and relevant then it did two years ago tbh. ๐Ÿ˜” "Starting to see my grandfather in my nephew's eyes. Mom still can't talk about him and not almost cry." This line has stood out to me each time I've listened to this song this year. As we all went around the table and shared something we are grateful for this year, my mom mentioned the extra time she got to spend with her dad and started to cry ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’” It's always hard celebrating the first holidays after a loved ones death. "So fill your plate and fill your drink, put your dishes in the kitchen sink and let the leftover year just wash away. Cause we made it through, I do believe, the longest year in history..." For my family, it was. Losing two very special grandparents, significant changes taking place, it's been a lot.

Thank goodness for Thanksgiving! Thankful some things don't change. Like celebrating this holiday with all our favorite foods and family. So, for one last time, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!! There's so much to be thankful for! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฆƒ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿงก

Familiar highways
Lined with leaves turned brown
Making my way
Back into my hometown

Funny how this all looks different, but it feels the same
Like how life never stops changing but some things never change

So fill your plate and fill your drink
And fill this house with family
The kind of love that all these years can't wash away
Cause the older that I get I see that life is short and bittersweet
Thank God for this Thanksgiving Day

Watching football
Watching families grow
The old kid's table
All have kids of their own

Starting to see my grandfather in my nephew's eyes
Mom still can't talk about him and not almost cry

So fill your plate and fill your drink
And fill this house with family
The kind of love a thousand miles can't wash away
Cause the older that I get I see that life is short and bittersweet
Thank God for this Thanksgiving Day

So fill your plate and fill your drink
Put your dishes in the kitchen sink
And let the leftover year just wash away
Cause we made it through, I do believe, the longest year in history
Thank God that it's Thanksgiving Day
