THANKSGIVING 2020!!

Song: Thanksgiving Song

HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL!! πŸ¦ƒπŸ™

What a wonderful day! Great food, great company, safety, warmth, happiness, joy, togetherness, pie, laughter, games, family, LOVE!! πŸ’›πŸ’› Today was perfect. I am beyond blessed. πŸ™

Today, I am grateful for: my family, my sweet puppy, mine and my family's health, having my taste/scent, my grandma, my aunt, food, traditions, music, safety, warmth, and that The Macey's Thanksgiving Day Parade still happened this year!

This year, EVERY member of my family helped prepare the food, which was a BLAST (if a bit crowded in the kitchen! 😜). This year, the FOOD was all BOMB!! Every, single dish turned out perfect! This year, I still got to watch the Parade (which is one of my most favorite Thanksgiving traditions). I'm so grateful COVID didn't take that away from us! And some of my faves performed during the parade (Goo Goo Dolls & PTX both of which killed it!). This year, I was able to go visit with my sweet and adorable grandma who is 93 and living back at her home (on her own!) even after experiencing a fall and being in a care facility for a month! She is healthy (never contracted COVID πŸ™πŸ™) and was in such great spirits! She has the purest heart and always has so much wisdom to share. She told us she spent the morning pondering all of her blessings, which took her a while because she has so many!! πŸ’“πŸ˜πŸ’• Taking her some Thanksgiving food and visiting with her today was a highlight for me! I hope to spend more time with her over the holidays!

As you can see, I have had an extraordinarily blessed day. I am so grateful. This song is dedicated to my family and to this wonderful, special holiday! Finally, a SONG dedicated to THANKSGIVING! The melody is so warm and cozy and the lyrics might make me cry, I'm just feeling so happy and grateful!! πŸ’›πŸ˜πŸ¦ƒπŸ™

Familiar highways
Lined with leaves turned brown
Making my way
Back into my hometown

Funny how this all looks different, but it feels the same
Like how life never stops changing but some things never change

So fill your plate and fill your drink
And fill this house with family
The kind of love that all these years can't wash away
Cause the older that I get I see that life is short and bittersweet
Thank God for this Thanksgiving Day

Watching football
Watching families grow
The old kid's table
All have kids of their own

Starting to see my grandfather in my nephew's eyes
Mom still can't talk about him and not almost cry

So fill your plate and fill your drink
And fill this house with family
The kind of love a thousand miles can't wash away
Cause the older that I get I see that life is short and bittersweet
Thank God for this Thanksgiving Day

So fill your plate and fill your drink
Put your dishes in the kitchen sink
And let the leftover year just wash away
Cause we made it through, I do believe, the longest year in history
Thank God that it's Thanksgiving Day

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!πŸ¦ƒ
REMEMBER TO COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS! πŸ™πŸ™
THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!!
