Grateful For Music Challenge Day 2

Song: Falling and Flying
Artist: Mindy Gledhill

Artists that seem to get mentioned quite often during the Grateful For Music Challenge include Josh Groban (always) and Mindy Gledhill! I don't know why, but there's something about this time of year that draws me to their music more often than at any other time. I guess I just need something softer, more mellow and uplifting (especially after some of the spookiness and sometimes darkness of Halloween music). Trust me, almost every Mindy Gledhill song I have shared via this blog has been during this month and this challenge! 😂 See if you can find them all!

I discovered Mindy Gledhill's first original album, Feather in the Wind, several years ago. I'd only ever listened to one song from it (which I shared 3 years ago; surprisingly it was not included during the Grateful For Music Challenge!). I decided to look this album up only a few weeks ago when I was searching for some calming, uplifting music. This was the first track on the album and I really enjoyed it! The message & lyrics are inspiring and positive and I want to start applying them to my life. (*I have to note, I find it so interesting how different her voice sounds here compared to the music I first heard from her...*). I hope you are filled with positivity and courage after giving this song a listen.

The rain drops falling on my face,
Invite my soul to take a taste,
As thunder spreads its wings into the space, above me.
I tilt my head toward the sky,
And laugh out loud as cars go by,
It's been so long since I have felt alive inside.

Now I'm free to jump,
I'm free to fall,
Free to let it roll away when I drop the ball.
I'm not ashamed
To break down and cry,
So come on precaution take a step aside.
Cause you see its falling that's teaching me to fly.

There's a breeze that's blowing past my door,
And it's bringing change like I have never known before.
It used to be that when it rained it poured,
Not anymore, so give me more!

Cause I'm free to jump,
I'm free to fall!
Free to let it roll away when I drop the ball,
I'm not ashamed, to break down and cry.
So come on precaution take a step aside,
Cause you see it's falling that's teaching me...

To be a little bolder
So hello queen and goodbye pawn,
Gonna turn my cheek and shrug my shoulder,
Gonna till I'm going gone,

Cause I'm free to jump,
I'm free to fall,
Free to let it roll away when I drop the ball,
I'm not ashamed,
To break down and cry,
So come on precaution take a step aside,
Cause you see its falling that's teaching me

To jump!
To fall!
Free to let it roll away when I drop the ball.
I'm not ashamed,
To break down and cry,
So come on precaution take a step aside,
Cause you see its falling that's teaching me to fly
