Grateful For Music Challenge Day 5

In honor of Hanson's upcoming Streaming Concert Series: Perennial (my show is TONIGHT!) I obviously have to share a Hanson song! And not only a Hanson song but a Hanson.net Member's song since Hanson's shows this week are highlighting their 20 YEARS worth of member's only music (they also have a BRAND NEW album out (Perennial: A Hanson Net Collection) available to the public that is a collection of some of those special Hnet songs that have, up until now, been reserved exclusively for members!). 

I have been a Hanson.net member for, gosh, I guess I'm coming up on my 6th year! That is WILD! What makes being a member so fun is that Hanson releases a 5-track EP for their members every single year. Imagine getting brand new music, every year, from your favorite artist! That's what Hanson does! And not only that, but they use that time to get creative, trying out different genres and styles than what most people think or know from Hanson. It's awesome! I have been lucky enough to receive 7 different member's only EP's over the years: Music Made For Humans (2014). Inside the Box (2015), Loud (2016), In Color (2017), Animal Instincts (2018), In Real Life (2019) & Continental Breakfast in Bed (2020). *I joined Hanson.net in November of 2014 which is why I've technically only been a "member" for 6 years but have 7 EP's.* I've enjoyed each one for different reasons as they're all so unique. 

The song I'm sharing today, Better Days, is from Hanson's 2019 member's EP In Real Life. Wow is this EP an eclectic group of songs! It's pretty even when it comes to songs that I think are phenomenal (notably Compromise, Worth the Wait & this song) with songs I could honestly do without and usually get skipped when they pop up... 😬 Sorry, not every song can be a winner!

Not only is this a great song to share because of the reasons mentioned above, but listen to/read the lyrics! How appropriate for the kind of year 2020 has been, am I right!? I love the style, tone and overall feel of this song! It's so encouraging and just gets me feeling hyped 👊 haha! Really though! I've been rambling enough, go give it a listen! I hope it brings you a sense of hope for better days ahead and makes you feel hopeful! 🙏

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression.
