Grateful For Music Challenge Day 11

In honor of Veterans Day and as I ponder upon the freedoms I get to enjoy because of the brave sacrifices of thousands of men and women around the world who fight for those rights and freedoms and keep our beautifully imperfect country safe; I have been saddened to see the divide in my country. The hate and intolerance towards those with opposing views. The hate for our country as imperfect as it is, we are so lucky to live here and enjoy the freedoms that we have! It feels like a slap in the face to those brave military men and women, past and present to say that the United States is "awful." It's not. 

This song came to mind as I am constantly bombarded by such negative, hateful rhetoric everywhere I look! We need to "COME TOGETHER" more than EVER! We need to be peaceful in our discussions and attitudes. We need to step back and try to see from the point of view of another. Try to understand why someone might feel the way that they do. 

Of course I have to include the original version of this song....but then you get the BETTER and more PASSIONATE version by our one and only KING OF POP, MICHAEL JACKSON!! 👑 If I'm keeping things 💯 here....I actually heard MJ's version first! So I'm super biased 😉 But I mean, come on! That PASSION!? It doesn't get any better than that! He turned this into a legitimate ROCK song! 😝🤘 A version even Aerosmith and ACDC would be proud of! 

But you decide. Which one is your favorite?? Disclaimer: I don't have anything against the original, I like it! Buuuut, sometimes originals can be improved 😁

I literally just saw this Kellyoke cover on youtube! QUEEN!! 👑 She can sing ANYTHING! Her voice is one of the best there is! Holy crap, Kelly can ROCK! 🤘




Side-note: the lyrics in this song are super weird and I have no idea what they're talking about, but it's the come together line that I'm trying to focus on here!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling.
