In honor of Hanson and the 20th anniversary of their incredible Underneath album and the EPIC Underneath Experience tour that I so thoroughly enjoyed this past week AND because exactly 9 years ago today I shared this song during the first year of this very challenge...you get this gorgeous, re-imagined version of an iconic song from an iconic band that made an iconic decision 20 years ago that changed everything! 💖 Ladies and gentlemen I am PROUD to present....Penny & Me (Moonlight Version)!! 🌕💗

This version is special for so many reasons and in so many ways: the fact that the original song came out 20 years ago 🤯, the original "Penny" from the original video reprises her role and Taylor Hanson's daughter, who is actually named after this song is in this music video "representing a new generation" of Penny & Me to Hanson fans....is INCREDIBLE! ICONIC. LEGENDARY! It's so sweet! 💗

What a special year for Hanson!! I'm so proud of them! They don't get the credit or recognition that they deserve and they literally don't care. All they care about is music and that's been their statement since they started, twenty-seven year ago! They understood that fame is fleeting and the connection that people really have is not with the artist themselves but with the music, which will outlive the artist and leave it's mark on this world forever, for generations to come! Hanson said "SCREW YOU!" to the corrupt music industry long before Taylor Swift made it look cool and "groundbreaking!" Hanson has way more integrity and respect for themselves than any other artist I know of and that's why is kinda pisses me off that no one knows what they went through and all they have accomplished since then. Everyone idolizes Taylor Swift and thinks she's so "strong" and "brave" and "inspirational" but really, they got the wrong Taylor...😉 No hate toward Swift, but Hanson's superior. And that's a hill I will die on! Hanson did it first! 🥇

Another thing I've come to love even more about this song...it's always been super catchy and fun, but when I heard Hanson explain what the song means....ya know, because they actually wrote it, it made me fall in love with it all over again! It's something along the lines of how it's really a love song to music. And how music is so often intertwined throughout our lives and life experiences. How it connects you to people or experiences or places. I LOVE that! I'd never thought of it in that way before and it definitely makes the song more relatable to me. 💖 The bridge especially has taken on a new meaning for me as I've really listened to it closer than I ever have before...maybe the slower vibe makes me hear the words more. It's so beautiful! It was my "summer song" this year, I listened to it constantly. My favorite times to do so were in the evening when the stars and moon were out. 🌕 I played it early this fall during a "pink" sunset after going for a drive to enjoy "where the leaves turn red" 🍁 and it was PERFECT! ✨

The music video makes me feel ALL the feels! 🥺😍😌💓😭✨🙌 IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!! 😭✨ HANSON FOREVER! 🙌
