Glory (Let There Be Peace)

Song: Glory (Let There Be Peace)
Artist: Matt Maher

I'm having some serious dejavu to exactly one year ago today. This is weirdly uncanny. And sad that I'm still struggling with the same things I was a year ago...I'll spare you the details of my difficult morning. Just know, I made some bad choices and was left with the inevitable feelings of guilt and regret that always comes when willingly giving in to temptations.

I felt very hopeless today. I felt numb, like I knew what I was doing was wrong but I didn't care. I tried to repent, but didn't really feel sorry and that upset me while at the same time left me feeling...nothing. I'm so sick and tired of my life. I really don't see much of a future for myself. I allowed myself to get caught up in self-pity. I knew I needed to try and feel the Christmas spirit so I read a small book I recently received entitled The Generous One by President Dieter F. Uchtodorf. It was exactly what I needed and his ending remarks made me feel again. Feel the love of God and the gratitude I have toward my Lord and Savior for His Atonement and ability to forgive me time and time again. It filled me with a renewed purpose to change and try. It gave me hope, when my hope was gone.

"I joyfully give thanks to God for His generosity. He saves us from loneliness, emptiness, and unworthiness. He opens our eyes and our ears. He transforms darkness to light, grief to hope, and loneliness to love. He frees us from a past of slavery and selfishness and opens the path to a present of purpose and a future of fulfillment. This is He whom we worship. This our God. This is the Generous One. This is He who loves His children so completely that He offered His Only Begotten Son that all who follow Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Because of Jesus Christ, we need never feel like strangers again. We will rise with the just when He returns! And because of His perfect life and eternal sacrifice, one day we can stand with the angels of heaven and receive with them an eternal gift. May we, this Christmas season, remember our generous Heavenly Father and give profound and heartfelt thanks to our Almighty God, who has given all of His children wings to fly."

This song captures the true JOY and GLORY to God that I feel right now. 🙏 It expresses my desire for peace that can come from the PRINCE OF PEACE. I'm going to make some small but much needed changes to better feel the peace of Christ the rest of this Christmas season and hopefully throughout the new year.

One star burns in the darkness
Shines with the promise, Emmanuel
One child born in the stillness
Living within us, Emmanuel

We're singing glory, glory
Let there be peace, let there be peace
We're singing glory, glory
Let there be peace, let it start in me

One voice speaks for the voiceless
Hope for the hopeless, Emmanuel
One love brings us together
Now and forever, Emmanuel

We're singing glory, glory
Let there be peace, let there be peace
We're singing glory, glory
Let there be peace, let it start in me

Do not be afraid, His love is strong
Enough to save us
Nothing stands in the way
His love is strong enough to lead us

Do not be afraid, His love is strong
Enough to save us
Nothing stands in the way
His love is strong enough to lead us (oh, lead us)

Let there be peace (let there be peace)
Let there be peace (let there be peace)
We're singing glory, (oh, we sing glory) glory
Let there be peace (let there be peace), let it start in me

MERRY "CHRIST"-MAS!!
