I can't believe we are beginning yet another year of the Grateful For Music Challenge! 🙏𝅘𝅥𝅮 

Every year, I think it's going to be my last...and then I find myself beginning another! It's wild to me. For the most part I love it and I love sharing my music posts but other times, it kinda depresses me. Like, I feel...old. And stuck. I don't know how to explain it. I don't want to get caught up wallowing in my issues right now tho...I do that every night as it is. And I had a long, exhausting day. So all I want to do is sit back and listen to music that has brought me joy over the years, starting with today's newest addition!

I discovered this song just last week. I listened to a lot of The Hound + The Fox over the Halloween season; I love their style and sound. They posted this song to their youtube page only a week ago and I know it was meant to be a "spooky" take on the song for Halloween, but it didn't give me "spooky vibes" at all (which is saying something for me who can stretch things to capacity and make just about anything work to fit whatever aesthetic I'm going for 😂 If I'd heard it earlier in October...it probably would be featured in last months daily song posts over this one!). I guess it's a little eerie, especially if you watch the music video but other than that I just found it to be beautiful! I've never actually heard the original version (but it's posted below so I can give it a listen 😉) but I've been really loving this cover and decided that it would be my kick off song for this month! It's beautiful and soothing to listen too and I'm ready for that kind of music after last month! Don't get me wrong, I love my Halloween Playlist and I'm really proud of the MASSIVE amount of songs I've accumulated and added over the years but...I'm just not in the best headspace mentally right now so I'm hoping it's going to do my heart and soul (and mind) some good to listen to more peaceful, beautiful songs.

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression.
