Grateful For Music Challenge Day 28

Song: Healing
Artist: Avi Kaplan

This song is dedicated to the family who is suffering their great loss and laid their son and brother to rest today. 💕 I'm not very familiar with this song but the title sounded appropriate. There is no timeline for grief. It may never fully go away...but eventually, healing does come. It won't fix what is broken or bring back what is lost, but it can help soothe the pain and provide the strength to endure another day...and then another....and then another.

I was able to view the funeral via Zoom. I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly powerful. I was in awe of the faith and strength both of his parents had as they stood and shared sweet and funny memories of their first born child. The composure they both had as they paid tribute and gave their final farewells to their baby boy was awe-inspiring. I would have been a wreck and honestly probably wouldn't have found the strength and ability to even speak. How does a parent speak at their own child's funeral? It's not right and one of the many injustices of the world. I was crying more than either of them! I believe they were able to deliver their messages with such grace, dignity, composure and courage because of the many prayers from friends, family and neighbors on their behalf. Prayer is powerful. I'm grateful that I was able to participate, it was a really special ceremony. I was strengthened by them! Their faith helped strengthen my own! I didn't sense any anger, bitterness or resentment towards God for what happened, just unwavering faith that they know where their son is and that they will see him again. It is amazing to me. I want to follow their examples and move forward with that same kind of faith and trust in God. I need it. God bless them and their family during this difficult time! May He send His Heavenly angels to lift and comfort their spirits, especially during this holiday season! May they find peace in the knowledge that their son is safe in the arms of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Himself this Christmas season! 🙏

House on fire but there’s no one home
Cloud of smoke and we’ve all moved on
I’ve heard it said there’s a reason why
That I just can’t find
But I have to try

Saw a man with his head in his hands
Tattered heart and his soul in the sand
I couldn’t give him reasons
I couldn’t tell him why

Even if I tried
Even if I tried

But there’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing

Had a love but they had enough
Gave it all but they gave it up
There’s gonna be a time that it turns out fine
But it ain’t tonight
And that’s alright

Cause there’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
There’s a healing
