Song(s): Run & When I Get There
Artist(s): Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran & P!nk

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my sweet, funny Grandpa! πŸ’•πŸ•Š

I can't believe it's been two years. That life just goes on. Death has been on my mind a lot recently. Death and the way we're just suppose to continue living our day to day lives immediately after the deceased is buried in the ground. It doesn't seem right. I'm not good with death. I know that sounds weird, but it's been affecting me more than usual the past few years. I still cry because I miss my puppy dog all of the time. πŸ’” I don't believe I can really ever "go back to normal" whenever I lose anyone close to me. I feel forever changed.

I'm sharing these songs today because they remind me of my grandpa. The first song, Run, was used in the sweetest memorial video my sister made that included pictures and video clips of my grandpa's life!! πŸ’“πŸ˜ She chose this song because, shortly before my grandpa passed, he made a comment that he wished he could get up and "run!" It was really funny and random to hear him say that, since he was usually making comments and jokes about how old and tired he felt. But for some reason, after he had his first fall, he was suddenly full of energy and wanted to take off running! Maybe he knew his time was close. 😒 I hope he's up in heaven running around with a football, having the time of his life!! πŸ™πŸ˜

The second song, When I Get There, immediately made me think of my grandpa when I first heard it. There were just a few lines that described him beautifully. "I hear a joke and I know you would have told it better." My grandpa had the best one liners and jokes! He was such a character and was constantly cracking us all up, including himself, which was the funniest part of all!! πŸ˜‚ "You were always first in line, so why would it be different for heaven?" This line fits my grandpa to a tee! He was always at least ten minutes early to everything! A very punctual man. "Is there a place you go to watch the sunset and oh, is there a song you just can't wait to share?" One of my grandpa's favorite past times was to sit outside in his rocking swing and watch the birds. He also loved music and was always humming or whistling a little diddy. And whenever he would sing, he sang from his very soul! He would get this look on his face and sing out the words with such power! I miss hearing him sing, especially at Christmas time, which was his favorite time to sing.

I love and miss you grandpa!! πŸ’• I can't wait to listen to all of your stories again and hear your loud laughter "when I get there!" Happy Birthday!!

One, two, three, four

Give me the keys, I'll bring the car back around
We shouldn't be in this town
And my so-called friends, they don't know
I'd drive away before I let you go
So give me a reason and don't say no, no
There's a chain 'round your throat, piece of paper where I wrote
"I'll wait for you"
There's a key on the chain, there's a picture in a frame
Take it with you

And run, like you'd run from the law
Darling, let's run
Run from it all
We can go where our eyes can take us
Go where no one else is, run
Ooh, we'll run
Ooh, we'll run
Ooh, we'll run

So you laugh like a child
And I'll sing like no one cares
No one to be, no one to tell
I could see this view a hundred times
Pale blue sky reflected in your eyes
So give me a reason and don't say no, no
And the note from the locket, you keep it in your pocket
Since I gave it to you
There's a heart on your sleeve
I'll take it when I leave
And hold it for you

And run, like you'd run from the law
Darling, let's run
Run from it all
We can go like they're trying to chase us
Go where no one else is, run
Ooh, we'll run
Ooh, we'll run
Ooh, we'll run

There's been this hole in my heart
This thing was a shot in the dark
Say you'll never let 'em tear us apart
And I'll hold onto you while we run (And we run, and we run, and we run)

Like you'd run from the law (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Darling, let's run (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Run from it all (And we run, and we run, and we run)
We can go where our eyes can take us (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Go where no one else is, run (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Ooh, we'll run (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Ooh, we'll run (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Ooh, we'll run (And we run, and we run, and we run)
Ooh, and we'll run

I think of you when I think about forever
I hear a joke and I know you would have told it better
I think of you out of the blue
When I'm watching a movie that you'd hate
And you'd say it
You were never one to hesitate

You were always first in line
So why would it be different for heaven
But I got a couple questions

Is there a bar up there
Where you've got a favorite chair
Where you sit with friends
And talk about the weather?
Is there a place you go
To watch the sunset and oh
Is there a song you just can't wait to share?
Yeah I know you'll tell me when I get there

Do you think of me? Do you wish that I would slow down?
Are there some things that you've seen that feel like home now?
Are you up there climbing trees, singing brand new melodies?
I hope you are, I know you are

Is there a bar up there
Where you've got a favorite chair
Where you sit with friends
And talk about the weather?
Is there a place you go
To watch the sunset and oh
Is there a song you just can't wait to share?
Yeah I know you'll tell me when I get there
Yeah you'll tell me when I get there

Will you save me a place with all those pearls of wisdom?
Yeah I'll make some mistakes and you'll watch me as I live them
Til I'm through, 'til I'm with you

Is there a bar up there
Where you've got a favorite chair
Where you sit with friends
And talk about, talk about the weather?
Is there a place you go
To watch the sunset and oh
Is there a song you just can't wait to share?
Yeah I know you'll tell me when I get there yeah
I think of you when I think about forever
