Month of Love Songs Challenge Day 10

I always meant to do a re-review of Hanson's Red Green Blue album last year after a month or so of having time to listen to and get familiar with it. My initial review seemed a little...confused. I actually quickly grew to love most (if not all) of the songs on the album, even if I still prefer some over others.

Red was always and still is my personal favorite "section" of the album. If you were to ask me right now what my favorite style of music is, I would say acoustic, singer-songwriter, folk. It's something I have really grown to love and appreciate over the past few years and what I find myself wanting to listen to. Don't get me wrong, I love a wide variety of genres and styles so ask me what my favorite is six months from now and it could be something completely different! This was a long-winded explanation of why Red has always been my favorite section! 😅 It has that acoustic, singer-songwriter vibe going on.

Today's song choice is, if it hasn't been made abundantly clear at this point, from Taylor Hanson's Red section of Hanson's 2022 album Red Green Blue. My very first impression of this song was....confusion. It was so unique and different that I didn't know how I felt about it initially. But it very quickly grew on me, so much so that I think it's become one of my favorite songs from the entire album! I've been listening to it a lot the past couple of weeks and think it's so groovy and sexy! 😏 I can actually hear this being a really cool and saucy duet between a man and woman; someone do a cover of it ASAP! Although a few intense Hanson fan reviews I read said they felt it was a "love song" to a guitar because of some of the wording and then Taylor basically confirmed it, haha. But to the casual listener (like myself) it sounds like a love song, albeit a somewhat unhealthy love song...more lust and infatuation than love. Someone is seduced by someone but knows they can't trust them. Not the sweetest, most romantic sentiment in the world but whatever. I still like it and the groove is HOT! 🔥

Taylor's vocals are freaking FANTASTIC on this track! He is passionate, soulful and sexy 😍 I like just listening to his vocal performance on this track almost more than the song itself, he's that good!!
