So, I just found out the Goo Goo Dolls have a brand spankin' *NEW* album coming out called Chaos in Bloom!! (I love that title!!). And they just dropped their new single (technically, it said out Friday, but time zones can be beautiful things. Granted, it's only a few minutes before it's officially midnight here but whatever). So of course, I had to have a live listening party/reaction! I love that I've had so much new music these past two months - from three of my all-time faves!

Upon my first listen, it's super fun! Sounds and feels like a pretty generic Goo Goo Dolls song and I LOVE that! Staying true to who they are! 👊 I love hearing Johnny sing in a little upper register on the lines "so tell me, what do you doooo" and "baby, sad but truuuue?" I've never heard him do that before!  And the lyrics, tho not as deep and powerful as the Googs can get, there's still some underlying messages on top of a carefree melody and chorus. ("'Yeah, I Like You', is out now and is about the rise of internet celebrities who are "famous for doing nothing". “In a world that is just drowning in social media and internet stars, many of whom are certainly talented, but many confirm that in 2022 you can be famous for doing nothing. Celebrity in this age has a very quick burn. It was hard not to be consumed by it during the pandemic.” - John Rzeznik - Yes! I knew it! Love that!). I'm a fan - always. 💜 It's definitely a fun, upbeat song that I'll be rocking out to all summer long! 🤘
