Grateful For Music Challenge Day 21

Song: The Prayer
Artist: Pentatonix

Whew. Last night and most of my morning was a doozy! I was in so much pain! I don't know what's going on with my body but this is the third time I have experienced intense body pains that last hours on end and then eventually just stop and go away. I was really hoping I could fall asleep last night and let the pain run it's course, but it became so intense that I had to go wake my poor parents up at 3 in morning and ask for a Priesthood blessing from my dad. I felt bad doing that but it was the only thing that helped me! After my blessing the pains did begin to ease and I was able to get some rest. I'm still not feeling 100% but at least it's not debilitating anymore and I can get up and move around.

I've received many Priesthood blessings over the past few months. They have been life savers and miracle workers for me. I am so grateful that I have a father who is worthy and holds this sacred power that I can ask for a blessing at any time of day (or night). I am grateful for the immediate relief and peace of mind the blessings always give me. It doesn't necessarily take everything away at once, but it helps ease the pain, anguish, heartache and can bring me a sense of peace and calm I could never receive on my own. *Disclaimer: I'm not relying on blessings alone as an official "diagnoses" or to heal me. Of course I'm keeping a close eye on my body and my health and will seek medical attention when needed.

This song is gorgeous and feels fitting for today. I believe in the power of prayer - whether it be by the power of the Priesthood or an awkward cry in the night. Prayer can bring miracles and peace. I love Pentatonix's cover of this beautiful song and find great comfort in the lyrics. I also love hearing the bridge in English, those words are powerful! Not to mention their arrangement is stunning and the background vocals actually sound like little snowflakes falling! It is comforting, spiritual and Christmasy all in one!

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe

La luce che tu hai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore resterΓ
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei

Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'Γ¨
When shadows fill our day

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

A world where pain and sorrow will be ended
And every heart that's broken will be mended
And we'll remember we are all God's children
Reaching out to touch Him
Reaching to the sky

We ask that life be kind
We ask that life be kind

And watch us from above
And watch us from above

We hope each soul will find
We hope each soul will find

Another soul to love
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer

Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Needs to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
