It's the day of the spooks 👻 and skeletons! 💀 Where goblins 👹 and ghouls 😈 roam the streets and witches fly through the night sky! 🧹

I actually did a little reading this morning about the history of Halloween and Jack o' Lanterns 🎃 and found it all very interesting. Check out my findings here, here & here.

I have to end the month off right with this super cool mash-up of two iconic MJ Halloween songs! He is (one of) my favorite parts of Halloween after all! I love the transition from Somebody's Watching Me to Thriller! So spooky and cool! Long live the KING! 👑

Today was fun. More low-key than usual (because of it falling on a Sunday) but I was still able to end the night watching Thriller with the fam! I loved every second! 💕

I will say, this morning was hard. I knew I was about to celebrate my first official "big" holiday without my boy 😢 It breaks my heart every time. 💔 I miss his company. I miss everything about him. I try not to feel guilty when I find myself having fun. I had a hard time getting myself excited and into the preparing/celebrating of Halloween this year because of my heartache (i.e. starting my daily song posts mid-month, not planning a costume or "theme" for a coordinating costume/pumpkin/dessert, etc.). I did end up re-using my MJ costume from 2015 last minute. 

I'm grateful I had a lot of family around me this weekend. It helped. 

Overall, it was a fun day (a pretty fun weekend at that). I was able to carve a pumpkin while listening to Halloween inspired tunes, hang out with my family, watch a fun Halloween movie while passing out candy to trick-or-treaters and seeing all the cute costumes, made decadent pumpkin cake pops and, as I mentioned above, ended the weekend by watching Thriller! 

I'm actually pretty OK with Halloween coming to an end and am looking forward to the rest of the upcoming holiday season (although I'm sure there will be plenty of tears and difficulty getting into the mood/spirit of things. It's all just going to take time). I am planning on continuing my Grateful For Music & Christmas Musical Advent posts so stay tuned for that. I will say though, I'm sad to have to take down my Halloween décor, it's so spooky & pretty.
