Several months back I kept seeing this commercial on TV:


I was familiar with the words of the song (I don't know how, I just was) and I thought the version in this commercial was so pretty I decided to look it up, haha. See how random I am when it comes to discovering new songs?? All I have to do is hear a tiny snippet and I immediately look it up. Hey, it's paid off a lot over the years!

Anyway, the version I'm sharing today isn't the version from the above commercial (you can listen to that one here if you'd like). The one I'm sharing is one I found through Apple Music and it's my favorite one! I was kind of obsessed with this song back in November and considered sharing it during my Grateful For Music Challenge but decided to hold off until this challenge because it's more romantic therefore I thought it would fit perfectly here 😄 And it does!

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do! The lyrics are a little cheesy, but all love songs are kinda cheesy if you really think about it, haha. But I don't care, I love cheese! 🧀😉😂

I like comparing the original version of a song - after I've discovered there is an original - to the new (better) covers that I find. So, first up, you have the original which is was released by a group called The Everly Brothers back in 1958!


I have no idea who Juice Newton is, but her country cover from 1981 was the best one (out of the  different versions I listened to before stumbling upon her) in my opinion. I just find it so beautiful and calming. Enjoy! Does this song bring anyone special to mind? 😉 It doesn't even have to be romantic, it could be about your dog! 🐕 Who make the best companions anyway!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us.
