HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!

Is this really a day I should refer to as "happy" though? I'm pretty worried and nervous about this election and what's going to happen, regardless of who wins. Honestly, I'm just excited for this day to be OVER! I have never seen this much division (within my own family, neighborhood, state and obviously, country), intolerance, hatred, nastiness and just straight up, blatant disrespect for people who have opposing views, beliefs and opinions. It's disheartening to say the least. It's moments, days and events like this that I feel extra grateful for my faith. I know I'm on the Lord's side so no matter what, I'm on the winning team! This day has been in my prayers for months, now it's all about trusting in the Lord, no matter the outcome. 🙏

I specifically chose this song for this day! First up, how I discovered the song: I have watched The Goofy Movie my entire life! That's really all there is to it. It's definitely a classic Disney movie in my household. My family has always loved the music and we've listened to it often over the years. This song happened to come to my mind a few weeks ago and after I listened to it I jokingly thought to myself "This needs to be the theme song of our country and people's different political views!" I decided then and there that this would be my song choice for this very day! The lyrics are actually super positive and inspiring and exactly what we need right now, specifically the chorus: "If we listen to each other's heart, we'll find we're never too far apart and maybe love is the reason why, for the first time ever we're seeing it eye to eye." I would say most Americans want what is best for our country. We want to maintain our rights and freedoms, we might just have different views and opinions on how to best go about that. But it doesn't do any good to scream at each other, blame each other, mock or become violent because of our opposing thoughts. We need to try to understand one another and work together to reach our common goals. The only way to do that, is showing more love to one another, especially those we strongly disagree with; which is the hardest part! 

I pray for peace. I pray for unity. I pray that people can be good. That people can be kind. That we can come together and work together to mend hurt feelings and get to a better place. We shouldn't be afraid of one another, we should see each other as ONE. "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!"
