Grateful For Music Challenge 2019!

You know what time of year it is .... IT'S THE GRATEFUL FOR MUSIC CHALLENGE OF 2019!

I'm so excited to bring this challenge back! I have so many wonderful songs lined up to share with you all (?) this month. Last year, I didn't do so well so this year I'm really going to try to post each and every day.

As I mentioned in a recent post not too long ago, I have been attempting to listen to every single Michael Jackson song (in order) since August! It's been quite the project. The man was in the music industry for decades, not to mention many posthumous album/songs that have been released. As I have persevered on this musical endeavor, I have not only enjoyed literally hearing the transformation of Michael's voice and style of music but I have come to know so many new and incredible songs that have become a cherished part of my musical library! Most especially from the Jackson 5 and Jackson's era! I look forward to sharing many of these gems throughout the month :)

Let's start things off with one of my most favorite "new" finds:

What a gem! Michael is so adorable singing his heart out on this funky, upbeat tune! I love it!! Though the lyrics may be a bit mature for someone Michael's age to be singing, I can't help but appreciate the level of enthusiasm and passion he exudes! Such an incredible talent! If this song doesn't have you up on your feet and dancing, I don't know what will! I am so happy and grateful to have come across this fun song!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression. Major  Halloween  vibes from two  Halloween  inspired movies. The  Corpse Bride  lyrics were written by the person who posted/sang this song. She does a great job! Thanks for sharing  Trickywi !
