Hanson Month 2019 Day 21
Song: All I Ever Needed
Artist: Hanson, From Icon the Paintings of ANTHEM (2013)
A book was released in 2013 that featured paintings inspired by Hanson's album Anthem. Three extra songs were included with the purchase of said book. I believe these were three tracks that didn't quite make the cut. Quite frankly, I'm OK with it. They weren't my favorite and didn't seem to fit the overall tone/theme of the material on Anthem. Good call boys! Out of the three songs (Nothing On Me, All I Ever Needed & Get So Low) this one was my favorite. It's a cute love song. And a Taylor lead :) Nothing On Me is an Isaac lead and my second favorite. Get So Low, the Zac lead, was my least favorite, mainly due to the fact that it has the "S" word in it (add an "S" to "hit"). That was super disappointing to me.
One (of the many) reasons I have always admired and respected Hanson is because of their clean music. Their songs have always had real substance to them, good messages and a diverse music style. It is so incredibly refreshing to not only have all of those mentioned elements but they do it without using foul language. That is rare in today's music industry. Practically every song on the radio is a "radio edit" of the original because it's so chalk-full of expletives! I hope this isn't something Hanson will start doing more of. They are a breath of fresh air in a world of vulgarity. (Granted, this song came out in 2013 and since then they haven't released any more songs with curse words .... then again I have heard them use the "F" word in a few live videos and "behind the scenes" videos .... including during the Hanson Day 2018 concert where Zac decided to slip it in to the wonderful song I Don't Wanna Go Home and ruin it for me .... I don't want any more of that guys!! Please and thank you!). I don't really think they will do anything too crazy in this regard, as not only do they have an image (that I think they are proud of), but they are fathers with young, impressionable kids (some in their teens!).
Anyway! Sorry to go off on a tangent there. As I said, this was my favorite track and I thought it was cute :) Thanks to good, ol' youtube and a kind soul for recording and posting this live version of the song (as this is the only way I can hear it .... since I don't own the book therefore I don't own the songs).

*Once again, I was unable to locate the lyrics :( Use those ears and listen up! It's cute :)*
