 Feeling super nostalgic as I think about all the lucky peeps who got to party in Tulsa this weekend. Just a few hours ago, they had the privilege of attending a super exclusive, super rocking concert, hearing all 5 of the new EP songs for the first time, LIVE. I have to wait until June for mine to even arrive. AND they didn't even stream the concert this year :( DOUBLE SAD!!! To make up for that major let down, I renewed my membership today so BRING ON THE NEW TUNES BABY!

In celebration of Hanson Day I made my annual Hanson cookies (while wearing another Hanson shirt)! But ..... sadly, they did NOT turn out :( I made the Snicker-doodle cut out cookies ..... hoping they were going to taste just like a delicious, soft snicker-doodle in the shape of the Hanson logo, but instead I somehow ended up with an incredibly tasteless cookie. I was so disappointed! I mean, this thing had cinnamon and sugar in the dough itself and then I coated the cookie in cinnamon sugar and yet you barely get even a hint of cinnamon! It was crazy! And, my dough kept breaking and falling apart. So, major fail this year :( I'm planning on making a cinnamon glaze to drizzle over the cookies that will hopefully give them more flavor and sweetness. I mean, these cookies weren't even sweet! If I want to eat a sweetless, flavorless cookie, it might as well be a healthy one and be giving me some kind of nutritional value! It's just so frustrating to spend hours in the kitchen baking and the end result is a big batch of tasteless failure!




On a lighter note, while I baked with my Hanson cookie cutters wearing a Hanson shirt (that I got from Hanson Day two years ago), I listened to Hanson's album Anthem! Such a good album! And so underrated and even seemingly underappreciated by Hanson themselves. The thought just occurred to me that I never hear Hanson play songs from this album! They didn't sing ONE during the Hanson Day concerts I attended and I never see any of the Anthem songs on youtube videos posted from the BTTI events! So sad!! I mean, it is for sure a ROCK N' ROLL album and Hanson seems to like playing acoustically a lot of the time, but I know they could do these songs justice stripping them down. I wonder if it wasn't as successful/popular with the fans so they just never play anything from it. If that's the case, it's a real shame because I'm telling you, this album ROCKS! 

I chose the song Already Home for today because it's one I was reminded of how amazing it is while listening to it!! But there were many others I could have chosen that would have been just as great! I guess I still have about a week and a half left of Hanson Month to share more songs from this underrated, underappreciated album!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling.
