Hanson Month 2019 Day 11

Song: Every Word I Say
Artist: Hanson, The Best of Hanson Live and Electric (2005)

I want to shout out Hanson's rocking AWESOME album The Best of Hanson Live and Electric! I listened to it all the way through today (while washing dishes for over an hour!) and it felt like I was at a live show! It was amazing! The energy is incredible, their playing is some of the best I've heard and of course their voices sound flawless!

Today's song is a beautiful yet rock n' roll sounding love song! It's so great! The lyrics are sweet and the song itself is just so, so good.

You feel like liberation
You give me new sensation
You show me what I need and
You are my life completed

Can’t stop, can’t break, who’s driving?
Sometimes there’s no denying
Till today I feel I can’t lose
I’m letting go of what I knew

I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I’m a fool and I don’t care
I hear your name in every word I say

Before you I was only
What I let control me
You are a revolution
Against my own conclusions
Till today I feel I can’t lose
I’m letting go of what I knew

I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I’m a fool and I don’t care
I hear your name in every word I say

And now I say goodbye to the way I used to be
There is no room for question
Cause your name it sets me free
Yesterday’s troubles harm me
Today’s are creeping in
So let go of the world around me
Cause your love is all I need

I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I’m a fool and that’s okay
I hear your name in every word I say

I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I’m a fool and I don’t care
I hear your name in every word I say

Every word I say
Every word I say
In every word I say

I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name well all I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
And no one can take it away

Some additional stand outs from this album include: Both cover songs they did - Optimistic (Radiohead) and In A Little While (U2). I've never actually heard the originals, I will have to look them up to see how they compare. But as far as I'm concerned Hanson SLAYED them both! Strong Enough to Break was so cool to hear "live" with a full band backing it. I've only ever heard it live acoustically so I liked hearing it with the drums, electric guitar, bass and keyboard. Hand In Hand BLEW MY MIND! Wow! If you don't think Hanson knows how to legitimately "rock" ..... all I can say is go take a listen to this version of that song! It was insane! And so fun! I mean, they went all out!! MMMBop .... I mean this song is just so iconic and they slay it every time! This was definitely the most "rock" sounding version I have ever heard! This Time Around & Rock N' Roll Razorblade are additional proof that these boys know how to ROCK OUT!! Go listen. Now. If Only had me jumping and singing along and I can't wait to hear this song live someday!! It's a classic and just the funnest sounding live song ever! Seriously, the best band ever! I always feel so happy whenever I listen to them :) Click here to listen to the album in it's entirety. I dare you not to rock out while listening!

HAPPY HANSON MONTH!
