Month of Love Songs Challenge Day 3

Song: God Loved Us, So He Sent His Son
Artist: Hymns, 187

Happy Sabbath!

This is a beautiful song of the greatest love ever given. It was given to all people everywhere. To those who are married with big beautiful families, to those who go through relationships like their going out of style, to those who are single and alone, couples with no children, to every child who ever was or has been born and suffered in this cold and often cruel, unforgiving world. This gift of pure love was given to each of them. Each of us. To me. No matter what, we are never really "forever alone." We never have been. We never can be. No matter our circumstances or what happens to us. Our Father in Heaven allowed our brother Jesus Christ, to come suffer a mortal life, to take upon himself every pain and heartache of all the children of God, to suffer, bleed and die. To be hated, mocked, persecuted, spit upon, slapped, whipped and abused. He allowed all of this to happen because he loves us. Christ willingly went through it all, felt it all, because he loves us too. Reflecting on this kind of love today and every day can bring peace to the downcast, downhearted and weary heart and soul. To those who struggle to get through each day. To those who feel alone, abandoned and forgotten. You are loved. We are loved. Always. Every day. There is someone who loves us. Who always has. And always will.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

God loved us, so he sent his Son,
Christ Jesus, the atoning One,
To show us by the path he trod
The one and only way to God.

He came as man, though Son of God,
And bowed himself beneath the rod.
He died in holy innocence,
A broken law to recompense.

Oh, love effulgent, love divine!
What debt of gratitude is mine,
That in his off’ring I have part
And hold a place within his heart.

In word and deed he doth require
My will to his, like son to sire,
Be made to bend, and I, as son,
Learn conduct from the Holy One.

This sacrament doth represent
His blood and body for me spent.
Partaking now is deed for word
That I remember him, my Lord.

HAPPY LOVE MONTH!
