Month of Love Songs Challenge Day 17

Song: He Sent His Son
Artist: Children's Songbook, pg. 34

This has always been one of my favorite primary songs. I remember having one of my first real experiences with feeling the Spirit and having it testify to me that what I was singing about and learning was true while singing this song. It's something that has always stayed with me. I don't know if it's because of that experience or because of the message of this beautiful song or both, but I can barely sing it all the way through without feeling emotional and getting a little choked up, especially near the end. This song reminds me of the love our Father in Heaven has for all of his children and for the gift of our Savior. Primary songs have always had a way of touching my heart and confirming truth to me. I love singing and listening to these sweet songs that teach truth in such a pure and simple way. I miss serving in primary and being surrounded by the tender, unwavering and pure faith and love of children and getting to sing songs like this each week. Primary was one of the greatest joys I ever experienced in my sad life.

How could the Father tell the world
Of love and tenderness?
He sent his Son, a newborn babe,
With peace and holiness.

How could the Father show the world
The pathway we should go?
He sent his Son to walk with men
On earth, that we may know.

How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?
He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath.

What does the Father ask of us?
What do the scriptures say?
Have faith, have hope, live like his Son,
Help others on their way.
What does he ask? Live like his Son.

HAPPY LOVE MONTH!
