Month of Michael!

This month, had he still been with us, would mark the myth, the man, the legend, the iconic, infamous King of Pop himself, MICHAEL JACKSON'S 60th BIRTHDAY! He's been gone for 10 years now. Yet, he lives on through his music, videos, dance moves and his fans. Rest in peace King. I still love you.

I've decided in honor of Michael and the man that he was, the influence he had not just on pop music and dance, but the world, and especially on me, that I am going to dedicate a post each day to one of his songs.

Let's kick things off with an oldie, but a goodie.

A classic. A song that is still just as fun and catchy now as it was back then. Michael's enthusiasm as he sings this song is impossible to resist. I can't help but snap my fingers and sing along whenever I listen to it!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression.
