He Knows

Song: He Knows
Artist: Jeremy Camp

April 2015 Saturday Afternoon Session: Therefore They Hushed Their Fears - Elder David A. Bednar

Today was pretty much the exact same as yesterday I am very disappointed to say. I ended up wasting another perfectly good day. I was lazy and consumed by my negative and paranoid, anxious filled thoughts.

I needed a song today that would remind me that Christ notices me and understand my every thought and doubt and worry. I googled something like "Christ Knows Me" and this song popped up. I haven't even listened to it yet, but I think it will be a good one.

So, here's to trying again tomorrow. Here's to being more positive. Here's to having the courage to speak my mind and to speak from the heart. And here's to trying to follow my Savior. I want to follow Him.

All the bitter weary ways
Endless striving day by day
You barely have the strength to pray
In the valley low

And how hard your fight has been
How deep the pain within
Wounds that no one else has seen
Hurts too much to show

All the doubt you're standing in between
And all the weight that brings you to your knees

He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
Let your burdens come undone
Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
He knows
He knows

We may faint and we may sink
Feel the pain and near the brink
But the dark begins to shrink
When you find the one who knows

The chains of doubt that held you in between
one by one are starting to break free

He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
Let your burdens come undone
Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
He knows
He knows

Every time you feel forsaken
Every time that you feel alone
He is near to the brokenhearted
Every tear
He knows
He knows

He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
Let your burdens come undone
Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
He knows
He knows

#ICanFollowHim: by looking for and noticing the lonely and the forgotten. By taking courage and stepping up to befriend or help them feel noticed.

"When a person feels isolated I don't deny the reality of the feeling or that its natural to feel that way but each of us whenever that sense may come upon us can stop and think, Jesus Christ died for me, Jesus Christ thought me worthy of his blood. He loved me, he had hopes for me, he can make a difference in my life and his grace can transform me. And maybe this person sitting next to me, ignoring me or even wanting to move away, maybe he or she doesn't. But that doesn't change the realities of what Christ feels for me and the possibilities I have in Christ. Every individual need to be determined that they are going to have a place in the Kingdom of God ... and other who are thoughtless or careless or worse, can't prohibit that, can't drive them away, can't take it away from them." - Elder Todd D. Christofferson

Because of what Christ did for each of us, there will always be someone who knows and understands you. Who notices you. That is Christ. I always take great comfort in that thought. Of Christ's ever present, constant concern and care for us. For me.
