Grateful For Music Challenge Day 14

Song: Finding Home
Artist: Mindy Gledhill, Pocketful of Poetry

I LOVE this one! It's probably my second favorite song on the album (after Shadow Children). The message of the song makes me feel so nostalgic. It makes me want to be a child again. It makes me wish I could go back to carefree days of playing with friends, coloring, being outside for hours running barefoot through the fields, drawing with chalk on the pavement, slumber parties, hardly a care in the world! Listening to this song makes me want to simplify my life. To slow down and take in the wonder and beauty of life and live as a child: in the moment, happy and like there isn't anything I can't do.

Remember when the grass was tall
And we built castles out of golden straw

Our feet were bare, our tangled hair
Blew in the humid ocean air

The old blue house reflected on
The mirrored sky within the silver pond
And horses grazed inside a maze
Of thistle thorns and barley blades

And I'm following a trail
That I've seen in fairy tales
But the crumbs I left behind are gone
So I'm trusting in my feet
And I'm skipping to the beat
Of a heart that's sweet on finding home

We rode our bikes out in the rain
And felt the jingle of our pocket change
Off to explore the bins galore
Of penny candies at the corner store

And I'm following a trail
That I've seen in fairy tales
But the crumbs I left behind are gone
So I'm trusting in my feet
And I'm skipping to the beat
Of a heart that's sweet on finding home

And I'm following a trail
That I've seen in fairy tales
But the crumbs I left behind are gone
So I'm trusting in my feet
And I'm skipping to the beat
Of a heart that's sweet on finding home
