In honor of my dad's birthday, I have decided to post one of his all-time favorite songs. Whenever I think of my dad and music, this song always comes to mind first. Followed by a few other Journey songs, some Chicago, the Outfield, Kansas, Toto, Thriller-era Michael Jackson, Elton John and the song "Jessica's Theme" from the film The Man from Snowy River. He used to play that song (and this song) on the piano when I was little and my sister and I would dance to it :) I love my dad so much. He is an inspiration to me in so many ways. He is the hardest worker, most loving father and most devoted member of the church that I know. He even sacrificed going to a basketball game tonight (something he always looks forward to) to go to a meeting in place of someone who couldn't make it. Just because he was asked to do it. My father is a wonderful example of always doing what is asked and to go the extra mile. I can't wait to celebrate the wonderful person that he is!! I love you so much dad!!

Song: Siren Call Artist: Hanson This song is off of Hanson's Fan Club EP: Loud (2016). I have been slightly obsessed with this haunting song as of late. This song is about dealing with depression ( Zac Hanson even said so ! Be forewarned, explicit language is used in this video. I'm so sorry). Once I heard Zac explain the meaning and message behind this song it made so much sense to me! I have always loved it and I've always known it had a powerful message but I could never quite figure out what it was. This song is about struggling. Being weighed-down by the burdens and challenges life brings to each and every one of us. When we stop and allow ourselves to "give in" to the pain and sadness that comes with the stress of life, that's when we begin to slip and fall into a deep depression.
