Some Children See Him

Song: Some Children See Him
Artist: James Taylor

I really wanted to post Santino Fontana's version of this song when he sang it with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for their Christmas concert in 2014, but alas. It's not on youtube :( I liked this video with the beautiful pictures of Jesus. I heard this song for the first time when I attended the Mormon Tabernacle Coir and Orchestra Christmas Concert: Keep Christmas With You back in 2014 (I can't believe it was that long ago!) and fell absolutely in love with it! It really made me think for the first time that people of different nationalities probably do picture Jesus looking more like them; their skin color, eye shape, etc. I had never thought of that before and I think that is a beautiful and sweet thing. This song is just so tender and touches my heart so deeply. I love it.

Some children see Him lily white,
The baby Jesus born this night.
Some children see Him lily white,
With tresses soft and fair.

Some children see Him bronzed and brown,
The Lord of heav'n to earth come down.
Some children see Him bronzed and brown,
With dark and heavy hair.

Some children see Him almond-eyed,
This Savior whom we kneel beside.
Some children see Him almond-eyed,
With skin of yellow hue.

Some children see Him dark as they,
Sweet Mary's Son to whom we pray.
Some children see him dark as they,
And, ah! they love Him, too!

The children in each different place
Will see the baby Jesus' face
Like theirs, but bright with heavenly grace,
And filled with holy light.

O lay aside each earthly thing
And with thy heart as offering,
Come worship now the infant King.
'Tis love that's born tonight!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
