Thankful For Music Challenge Day 18: Grown-Up Christmas List

Song: Grown-Up Christmas List
Artist: Peter and Evynn Hollens

This song made me cry!! Peter and Evynn did such a beautiful job with this rendition! Watching the sweet music video and listening to the words of this song touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. In a world that seems so consumed with hate and violence right now (especially after I heard about a stabbing that happened at a local high school this past week) this song brought peace and comfort to my sad and fearful heart. I am so grateful for this tender message and beautiful video. I hope that during this holiday season I can find opportunities to serve and make the world a little bit happier. I love, love, love this song!!

Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

But heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
This is my only life long wish
This is my grown up christmas list
