Grateful For Music Challenge Day 14: Little Red Bike

Song: Little Red Bike
Artist: Mindy Gledhill

This song makes me want to cry!! It just makes me think of growing up and moving on and moving away. So, why would I post a song that makes me feel sad during my grateful for music challenge? Because as emotional as this song makes me, it does make me feel grateful as well. It makes me think of my parents. It makes me think of their love for me. How much they have helped me my entire life and how they are continuing to always help me. They are always there for me. But I've reached that point in my life where they can't always do everything for me, they've had to let go a little bit. I'm sure that's hard for them. Especially when they see me struggling as much as I am. But even though they've let go a little bit, they're still there, running behind me, ready to help pick me up when I fall down. They believe in me. They know I am capable of succeeding. Since the time they helped me learn to ride my "little red bike" to now, they will always be there. This song reminds me of how grateful I am for my parents and how much I love them.

The air feels feather-light
Against my apple cheeks in the driveway
I try to balance right
And push the pedals as I

Ride
You by my side
Holding on for dear life
With the sun in my eyes
And with all of your love you let go of
My little red bike

I trace a figure eight
And fall to pieces on the pavement
You scoop me up and say
Life's meant to be this way so get up
and

Ride
You by my side
Holding on for dear life
With the sun in my eyes
And with all of your love you let go of
My little red bike

I brace the handlebars
And coast against the breeze
I'm chasing after cars
While time is chasing after me and I

Ride
You by my side
Holding on for dear life
With the sun in my eyes
And with all of your love you let go of
My little red bike
