It's Halloween Week! I'm so excited! Did I mention I'm being MICHAEL JACKSON for Halloween this year!? I got my costume all figured out and I must say I absolutely LOVE it! I was nervous originally to say I wanted to be MJ for Halloween. I was worried about what other people would think. I also thought, is that too weird? For me, a girl, to dress up as Michael Jackson? I definitely don't have the right personality for him: I can't dance, I'm not a funny enough person to imitate any of his "sounds", dance moves, songs, etc. I definitely can't sing. But then I thought, hey! I really love MJ right now and so I'm just gonna go for it! It's gone over well with everyone I've told thus far. I hope to just relax and have fun with my costume and not worry about others opinions or my lack of MJ skills....I already I know I have plenty in common with him anyway ;) Just have to keep reminding myself about that. It makes me happy.

Anyway, this song is a terrific song for Halloween time. It's actually a pretty deep, symbolic and sad song. Poor Michael went through so much. You can hear how frustrated he is. Not only hear, but  you can feel it. To me, I feel like he was trying to send a message through this song. Kind of like, "the world makes fun of me about my appearance, they call me "Wacko Jacko", they only see me as some eccentric person, so here. This is what they want. But this is how it feels." It's like he's saying one thing, "Let me please you, let me give you what you want from me, is that scary? Is that what you want to see? Am I scary enough for you?" ("I'm gonna be exactly what you wanna see...." "and if you wanna to see eccentricities I'll be grotesque before your eyes...let them all materialise" "did you come to me to see your fantasies performed before your very eyes?"..."Is that scary for you baby? Am I scary for you?") but then you catch glimpses of the deeper meaning, the cry, the plea for help and understanding ("It's you whose haunting me, your warning me to be the stranger in your life"...."But if you came to see the truth the purity, it's here inside a lonely heart....so let the performance start"... "Masquerade the heart, to hide a hurting soul, just not what you seek of me, can the heart reveal the proof like a mirror reveals the truth see the evil one is you"..."I'm tired of being abused you know you're scaring me too I see the evil is you, is it scary for you baby?")

That line "But if you came to see the truth the purity it's here inside a lonely heart, so let the performance start!" Is soooo amazing to me!! So much depth and meaning behind that line! I absolutely love the emotion that Jackson puts into it, especially the "so let the performance start" *Chills* Seriously, go listen to it for yourself right now! Hauntingly beautiful yet painfully sad. His life was seen as a freak show to some people. How horrible :(

I don't know if I'm explaining what I'm getting from this song very well, but it's very sad. It's haunting. There's definitely a deeper meaning, a message that he was trying to send. I love the song and find it to be a great choice to listen to this time of year!
