Today I did something that was quite frightening/embarrassing for me, a now 23 year youngin', to do. And it was.......I GOT MY DRIVER'S PERMIT!!! (again). Yes, I got one three years ago at 20 and let it expire without ever taking a driver's test and getting an official licence. Yes, I never got one at 15.....or 16....or 17.....etc. *insert embarrassed face emoji* But today, none of that matters! Because I am MOVING FORWARD with this new permit and I am determined to get my licence in the next three months (or so)!

Driving has always terrified me! I suffer from general anxiety (aka EVERYTHING gives me ANXIETY!). I have never, ever felt comfortable driving. There are times I feel disabled when it comes to driving. I have given up on myself (and driving) in the past. I am a very "worse case scenario" minded person (I'm terrified of getting into an accident, caused by me or someone else. I really struggle with parking straight, I'm terrified of hitting/killing a human or animal, I struggle with left and right (seriously, it's bad. And SO embarrassing!), I feel extremely claustrophobic in traffic, I'm embarrassed to "practice driving" in front of anyone I know, etc. etc,). I have never felt like I could handle driving. But, I know, as I have always known, it's something that is important and that I need to do in order to move on with my life. Also, now that THREE of my YOUNGER siblings have their licences and are driving freeways like nobodies business....I'm thinking it's about time I join the "big kids" club.....maybe it's due in part to my "Peter Pan syndrome" that it's taken me this long..... ;)

Also, to get a little spiritual here, I am SO thankful to my Heavenly Father. I know I couldn't have done this without him. I'm so glad I let FAITH win over FEAR for once and trusted Him 100%! He has ALWAYS been there for me and ALWAYS will be. Today was a tender mercy. A miracle. I am SO GRATEFUL!

ANYWAY, this song is AMAZING!!! I love it so, so much! It's so inspiring and uplifting! I listened to it TWICE as I got ready to go to the DMV today. I would sing certain parts of the song to myself to help me not feel so anxious and it WORKED!

....but the answer's in believing so give yourself a chance....
