New Song Challenge: Invisible
Song: Invisible
Artist: Hunter Hayes
I've been trying to stay as positive as possible, especially since we're still in the beginning of a new year. But let me tell you, it's hard. It's hard going from having such a negative and scared mind-set to trying to be a more positive and confident person. I'm doing something this upcoming weekend (that may or may not affect my daily song posts....hopefully I still get something out) that makes me nervous. Especially when I have a "worst-case-scenario" way of thinking. I've done this before and everything turned out fine. I just can't seem to stop worrying about all the "what-if's" and just being grumpy and lazy and self-conscious because of my worry wart tendencies. Ugh. And then yesterday I was asked to do something similar (to what I'm going to be doing this weekend) by someone I've never even met before. And I panicked and don't know how to say "no" so I said "yes!" And I'm dreading it now!! I know I need to change my attitude. And my mind-set. And have faith. Because both of these things are good opportunities for me. So I need to just stop being a freaking baby and just be like "I got this! I CAN DO THIS! I'm good at this kind of thing. LET'S DO IT!"
Anyway, sorry for going off on a rant. Today has been ..... not so great. I feel drained of all motivation and excitement for the future and changing my life. Instead, I am resenting change and wanting everything to stay the way it is. Does that mean I have to stay depressed? And anxious at all times? Because that's what "wanting everything to stay the same" would mean. I don't want that! Since I'm feeling down and insecure, I wanted to try and find a song to match my current mood and feelings. BUT I think I have found a song that is inspiring instead! And that's supposed to make one want to pull themselves up and start again. I only listened to a small sample on itunes so I'm not exactly sure if that's what this song is about. I'm not a big fan of country music but I do like a few Hunter Hayes songs so I thought I would give him a try. Here's to positive vibes!!
Crowded hallways are the loneliest places
For outcasts and rebels
Or anyone who just dares to be different
And you've been trying for so long
To find out where your place is
But in their narrow minds
There's no room for anyone
Who dares to do something different
Oh, but listen for a minute
Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
Oh, invisible
So your confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness
But you don't have to fight it
'Cause you're strong enough to win without a war
Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it
Yeah, I promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more
Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Yeah, the words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more of this life than what you're feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
These labels that they give you
just 'cause they don't understand
If you look past this moment
You'll see you've got a friend
Waving a flag for who you are
And all you're gonna do
Yeah, so here's to you
And here's to anyone who's ever felt invisible
Yeah, and you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
It'll be invisible
