Hahaha. This song is from a movie any 90's kid will recognize and one that I haven't seen in years! For some reason, this song came to my mind a couple of days ago so I looked it up on the youtubes and listened to it. I was overcome with a wave of nostalgia! Oh my goodness, take me back to my childhood, PLEASE!! I also paid a little closer attention to the words. They are really sweet. When I was a kid, I had a a HUGE imagination! If I didn't have anyone to play with, I could lose myself in my own imaginary world and make up stories and games and be entertained for hours. I have always loved books and reading (maybe that's why I enjoyed this movie so much!) and I truly believe that is where a big part of my imagination came from. I loved creating a world that I could be anything I wanted to be. I loved being a hero or an Indian princess or a witch/wizard, Jedi-Knight, you name it! It truly saddens me to see how quickly kids seem to grow up these days. How quickly they lose their creativity and sense of imagination and wonder. I am determined to raise my future children in a way that they will always nurture a love for wonder and magic and have an imagination!

 

Anyway, I feel happy and grateful for this old, maybe somewhat cheesy, definitely a 90's song today because of the joy that the imagination of my childhood brings to my heart. That it reminds me to continue to use my imagination, even today, and believe. You're imagination is a powerful thing. Use it for a force of good!
